myself as bellatrix lestrange, taken at comic-con international 2010i waited all four days of the convention to take this picture. i reminded my friends over and over again during the convention days that i had to take a picture with voldemort before it ended XD i'm very happy with the result!

*baby voice* well, you see, the dark lord gave me a very specific mission. i had to go and find that dirty half-blood potter, so i couldn't make a scene...unfortunately *smirks* BUT, he had BACKUPS, and there were several potters imposters all around, so i couldn't find that bloody teenager!!

ed wood is my all time favorite movie, so i suppose that's my favorite depp/burton collab XD but, sweeney todd was the movie that introduced me into tim, johnny, and helena's work. i never was really into movies and theatre before seeing this movie, so i suppose this movie opened my mind to other forms of art and music XD i give the film a bunch of credit!!

i already liked helena from harry potter (i saw sweeney todd very late XD) and her performance and mrs. lovett made me love her even more :'D i like crazy characters~
i think part of the reason i like sweeney todd so much is because i've always liked musicals. even the most demented ones end up making me happy just because of the musical atmosphere :3
so i'll be smiling when johnny's cutting peoples' throats XD

i knew of tim's work, but since i wasn't really a film junkie like i am now, i didn't really care XD i didn't like johnny at all actually, cause i thought he was only famous for pirates (i hate those movies) and his looks, so i thought that was a stupid reason to be famous (of course i was totally wrong). and i had seen some of helena's work (like hp and corpse bride), but didn't know her name, so never really cared about her either.
but sweeney todd changed my opinions on all THREE!! XD i adored burton's style and directing (and then became obsessed with film), finally realized johnny was extremely talented, and loved helena's interpretation for, my now, favorite broadway character XD and helena is my fashion idol XD
oh, i love weird and demented movies XD i am not as familiar with musicals cause i got into them after seeing sweeney, but there are some dark ones i love (have you seen repo the genetic opera?)

ohh, wow, where to start with "repo?" here we go!
(it's a lot like the jude law movie "repo men," but "repo! the genetic opera" was written first...AND it's a musical! 
it is 2056, and an epidemic of organ failure has spread worldwide. with death everywhere, mankind finally recieves an answer. a company named "GeneCo," created by rotti largo, guarentees anyone a replacement organ for their infected one. however, these surgeries are extremely expensive, so patients can pay off the proceudre monthly. however, if you miss a payment, GeneCo's "repomen" will find you, reposess your organ, and leave you for dead.
ok, that's JUST backstory!
the plot revolves around a 17 year old girl, shilo wallace (played by alexa vega) who was born with a blood disease. her widowed father, nathan, tries his best to shield her from the world (a lot like johanna barker) but she's eager to explore her surroundings. we then learn that nathan is protecting shilo, not just from the dangerous world, but also from his true self. to makes ends meet, he secretly works for rotti largo as a repo man.
rotti contacts shilo, telling her he has the "cure" to her blood disease, but he has a secret agenda to split up the wallace family. we follow shilo as she learns much more about GeneCo, her father and mother, and society.
pretty well done movie! i adore the plot and it's social commentary (a lot about celebrities and their hunger for outer perfection). it's a rock opera, so the score is really fun and modern, but i don't like how they incorporated the songs into the movie itself--the transition from dialogue to song is kind of awkward.
wow, i really wrote a lot, and sorry about that!
ohh, one more thing, paris hilton is in it, and actually does a good job! she plays rotti's daughter who is obsessed with plastic surgery XD
so, i'd say it's a cross between sweeney todd (it's pretty gorey, but in a funny way) and the rocky horror picture show (adult subject manner).

yeah, i've been lucky, espeically since i live so close to the con's location. i met people who must have traveled all the way from their state or country just to attend. you would LOVE comic-con, it has everything, and all different types of cosplayers!! (i saw a sweeney with a hatter, red queen ,and white queen!!) my advice is to check the website every so often, and right when you hear tickets go on sale, BUY THEM. my friends and i went all four days, and those tickets go on sale much sooner than one day tickets--we bought our passes in september of 2009!!

ok awesome because I am actually planning on going next year, as Sweeney all 4 days (unless I get a decent Hatter cosplay by then, i might do Sweeney on busier days and Hatter on Friday and Sunday)
You saw a Sweeney? did you take a pic? was he/she accurate? lol people i have talked to who went to the con said they didnt find a Sweeney cosplayer, but i guess there are so many people and its such a huge con that you might not find one even tho there was one there.

oh excellent! maybe we'll finally meet XD my friends and i aren't sure if we want to go all four days again next year, but we'll probably go two days.
the sweeney and his wonderland group were all EXTREMELY accurate! we saw them outside as we were leaving. i wanted a picture of them, but they started to walk away right when i got to them. it was kinda cute and funny, right when they started to leave, the sweeney picked up the red queen's train for her and carried it into the convention center lol he was the only sweeney i saw, however. i am going to look for them on dA! the red queen even had the heart shaped spectacles!
