Def:
In 1939 the main American medium tank was the M2, and M2A1 medium tank with the M2A1 being a slightly upgraded variant of the M2. Most of the upgrades where minor with a slightly new turret, a slightly stronger engine, and a few other smaller changes. Shorty into the start of World War Two when the American saw the Germans blitz both Poland, and then France, they decided a medium tank armed with a 37mm gun was no longer suitable and declared the M2 obsolete with only 94 M2A1 built. The M2 medium tank would see the rest of the war as a training tank, but American engineers learned valuable assets from the M2 which would go on to strong influence the design of both the M3 Lee, and M4 Sherman medium tanks.
------
The M3 was the "Lee", and the M4 was the "Sherman"... what could have been the M2's nickname?
