The STRV M/42 was produced by AB Landsverk, a Swedish heavy industry manufacturer, for the Swedish Army from 1943 to 1945, though the tank entered the Army's service in November of 1941. The tank was armed with an L/31 75mm gun, the first 75mm gun mounted in a Swedish tank. By the end of it's production run under 300 were built. In the late 50s to the early 60s, many were rebuilt as the STRV 74 medium tank. Due to Sweden's neutrality during WWII, the STRV M/42 never saw action.
