Description Yesterday we got our first real snow that did more than just dust the ground and Emma was very very very excited about all that white stuff on the ground. In fact, it's still on the ground miraculously and she's still very very very excited about it. Our house is extremely whiny right now because she wants to go outside again--nevermind that she'd just been out two minutes earlier.

When I caught this photo, she'd already been out for about 25 minutes, loving every second that she got to be out in the cold with the Fantastic White Stuff on the Ground and had started to settle down to keep an eye out for everything passing by. "Everything" generally includes cars, neighbors down the street, other dogs in the neighborhood and of course the evil People Who Don't Like Giving Pettins. Today it was merely some kids playing in the snow and a neighbor's dog out for a potty break. But you can see that there is a quiet watchfulness in her face and her eyes as she guards us against these things.

Emma will be a very beautiful dog when she grows up, and she is already gorgeous... nice photo.

I wonder if she is going to end up with 8 to 12-inch-long hair like my Samoyed/Great Pyrenees mix you've seen a photo of has... beautiful to look at and behold, but a chore to groom and clean up after...

She definitely will be! Right now she's shedding up a storm, I'm not sure if she's going to blow her coat twice a year or if she's just blowing her puppy coat, but I do know when it grows back it's probably not going to be as long as a the Samoyed coat. Which may be a good thing!! LOL Because already we're brushing off head-sized balls of fur every other day and if her hair was longer...oh boy!

I have to say that that IS a good thing... the Furminator comb has been a good thing for us as far as grooming.

Hehehe, always with the sad eyes, it's so funny! And fortunately those droopy jowls don't come with drool.
