Description A small Mikado built in the late 1910s or early 1920s. A study in turn-of-the-century practices, including running flags, personal touches including a Baldwin nameplate and iron sculpted blue jays on the marker lights, a five-axle tender design for added stability and range, and an American iron boiler jacket. The only real concession taken here is the three-axle tender design, which is basically a Commonwealth truck from the '30s with an older frame style. The rest of the engine, however, could potentially be seen on a real locomotive.

Meshes by myself, my colleague Cody and Paul Hobbs.

This locomotive looks like it was on train sim or something.

I've tried, but I've yet to get anything looking this nice in Train Sim.

I can't really tell if it's standard or narrow gauge, but I want it none the less!! And I have no idea how I missed this in my notifications.... O_o

Heh. It's based on Sierra #34, a friend of mine built a version tweaked to his own design, and so while I exported his, I built my own using a few older Western ideas, with Baldwin paint styling and builder, five-axle tender and European smokebox door taken from various CP ten wheelers, et cetera. I've developed this road idea a little more - it has a general location and historical reference, as well as a set of rather tasteful Pullman color heavyweights and gold lining. I also found that CP 177, one of A. J. Stevens' early locos. was sold to an "unknown" buyer in 1889, so it will probably wind up being the basis for the incorporation of his highly modern ideas on this road.
So of course I am building a model of 177 now as a basis for modification. There will be a render when the model is done, since I'm sure the paint will take forever.

Well I must confess I'd like to add both models to my roster, and your C&C 4-4-0s when you release them.

I hadn't noticed the 5 axle tender until you mentioned it.
But at first I thought it was narrow gauge. But even as Standard I love the overall design and color scheme.

Yeah no, the five axle tender is fun. They made a lot of similar ones on the CP, some of which were behind Stevens 4-6-0s so you can bet you'll see one of them in that package.

C&C 4-4-0s are finally almost done. has a spec that he likes - I haven't had the chance to test it yet - so that should be it. Additionally, I am going to be helping revamp the Trainz Forge site next weekend, so I'm really hoping we can set up a release then.

The color scheme on this is pretty stock standard - I used the Baldwin reference sheet for Style 291 and this is how it came out. Originally I was toying with the idea of an Adlake box headlight - that is where the name panel came from as I had jokingly named it Quasimodo for its hunchbacked appearance. I much prefer the round oil light, however.

When it comes to the use of box headlamps a nd round oil lamps on locomotives it's a case by case basis for me. In the case of this engine I would have to agree that it looks better than a box lamp. Though a box headlamp would still look good. But I think you made a perfect chioce in this case.

Heh. I did quite like it with a box light - certainly it worked better than many of the other headlights I was trying on this. (The original model of this had a very unique design of headlight, which didn't quite look right when I made the other necessary modifications) Andrew thought it looked too "Hollyweird" which was certainly the case, though not quite as bad as SPNG #9 westernized...
Either way, I had definitely been looking for a round oil lamp to complete the look - originally I was going for a Puffing Billy-style headlamp from one of my old models - but this definitely worked out for the best.

Trainz Forge, though the plan for a new site fell through, now the current plan is just to upgrade the old one somewhat.
