About 4 hours, Derwent Artists on black card.I actually drawered this about this time last year. ~EtherealPanda watched me draw most of it in mah own room :3 It's the actor Joshua Morrell from an old movie called Joey: Making Contact. I think that's what it's called, anyway...
The skin tone was actually really hard to get right, as I recall. So this is an old piece but I'm actually quite fond of it, so here you are! I just felt like uploading it

As you should be fond. Skintone in general tends to stump me. There are colors in it I wouldn't even think to add. I think you really captured the dark scene and the high contrast looks so dramatic. His left ear for me looks really off kilter. Its just got this warm orange tone to it which doesn't fit in with all of the cool blues.

It IS a great piece. It must be hard drawing on a black card since you probably can't see your own pencil marks? I've never tried, but I think you got the skin one exactly right. Once again, and incredibly realistic face and a wonderfully drawn portrait.

Actually pencil is highly reflective compared to black card, so you can see it in the right light. Pencil is also not black, so it shows up as dark grey. Thanks mate

Yeah, your realism always amazes me. Even with a rough tooth on the paper it looks like a photograph. And such very atmospheric lighting.

This looks amazing! I just have to say that first off. Your choice to use black artist's board rather than white paper is a great choice because it REALLY helps to emphasize the contrast in this piece and you really bring out the character with it. The shading you did on this and the realism you have captured is just astounding, I love how it's almost like a photograph, but it's not because you have the colour clinging to the textures in the paper, it's a great effect and I just love it.
