Update on 16.01.2009: Update of the picture: I started the editing from scratch here too and then increased quality, colors and light of the background (the sky was a bit overexposed) and did minor retouching at the bushes. I also changed the framing style to my new one. Now the quality is good enough to finally be sold as a print!_________
This is a Golden Eagle raising up from a small hill towards the wide world. It was taken in Styria, Austria, at a bird show. This eagle is about 14 years, I was said, old but still very vivid

Yes, they are! I love eagles and falcons. They're gorgeous creatures. It's a pity we don't get to see much of them down here because of the forests being cut down. I once jogged past the jungle and spotted one, but I didn't have a camera on me to take the shot.
I really miss seeing these birds...

well I do work at the avian rescue near my house. Golden Eagles are very rare in Vancouver

In Austria eagles are actually very rare as well, like maybe 10-20 in whole Austria. But it's amazing to be so close to them, even though they are not "free" birds

American Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles.
Some Vultures and hawks too I guess.

I guess its the same around here. Eagles, some occasional arctic raptors come down too, like the snowy owls, gyrfalcons, and stellars sea eagles.
