Description
The Phallaceae* family of mushrooms--better known as the stinkhorns--gave us the amusingly shaped common stinkhorn and the rather disturbing dog stinkhorn.On purely aesthetic grounds, however, I prefer the Amanitas, a thicker-stemmed species with a blunt cap and regrettable tendency towards extreme toxicity.

I have seen stinkhorns before and boy do they smell, but what also shocked me about them is their preculiar texture. The stalk is spongy and the head looks as if it's been carmalized with a sticky mess. But ohhhh yeah. Their shape is rather... hehe... amusing...
