Storm was a character that I have been meaning to do for the longest time, and she was stuck in limbo for about a month and a half before I finally got the inspiration to finally get her done right. As one of the most recognizable Marvel characters out there today, Storm has finally found her way into my portfolio after a long wait.

Choosing an outfit for Ororo was pretty fun, and in the end in came down to her classic Giant-Sized X-Men outfit and her current outfit today, and I opted for the latter. It just looks so classy with how the white and black blend in together, and the cape was something I needed to do over and over to get it right. Her hair was a big challenge because I wanted it to stand out the way it always does when the best artists draw her. Thankfully I got it right with her huge hair flowing behind her, and the details on the costume like her silver bracelets help make her monotonous costume pop a bit more.

The effects were obviously the hardest parts of the piece, and I wanted to make sure I represented both wind and lightning well to portray her powers properly. The wind cyclone came out pretty well in the end, and it really does look as if she's being held up thanks to it. The lightning on her hands were a result of hours of trial and error, and I finally came up with something I liked and kept in the end. I love how they all just seamed perfectly together, and to add that cherry on top I put some glowing effects on her eyes to show that she's ready to call upon the forces of nature. I hope you guys think I did our favourite weather goddess some justice with this piece!
