for generations the Battle ship has been the Iron Fist of most fleets. while they fell out of favor for surface fleets the massed firepower and heavy armor of the Battle ship has caused a resurgence of the class. The TAE, Tau Imperium, And Valkiir fleets have hundreds of Battle ships in their service. The Najuhlim, Q'sa and Onai races also depend on heavy massed firepower rather than the strike and fade maneuver tactics used by smaller powers.
The battle ship has evolved into the command and control core of Massed formations directing smaller ships. providing long range fire support for lighter craft while they make their attack runs and hold enemy battle ships at range to prevent them from overwhelming the lighter formations with their brute power.

This ship is a Terran manufactured Leviathan Class Battleship also in service with the Valkiir fleet. Tau ship yards excel at small quick ships but have difficulty in manufacturing Heavy ships such as battle ships. Often a Tau Arms company will subcontract major components from other Shipyards and assemble the ships in their own Yards using their weapons and electronics. This arrangement has tripled the out put of the Tau/T.A.E/Valkiir naval Yards.
