Description The Valkiir favor swift strikes against exposed targets to soften up defenses for a final massive assault by their elite forces. To perform deep penetration attacks, deliver commando teams and provide up to date intelligence the Valkiir have often relied on Tau Imperial craft which are more stealthy and piloted by specially trained crews. In recent years Stealth technology Gained from the Terran Alliance Executive ( T.A.E) has been applied to the newest Valkiir designs resulting in a swift, stealthy heavily armed craft capable of performing behind the lines operations without relying on the sometimes Belligerent Tau Houses for support.
The New Switchblade class Frigate is the premier example of thee craft they mount only point defense weapons, pop up secondary batteries, for close in combat, and a variety of specially constructed low signature torpedoes for precision attacks on larger capital ships. Discarding the heavy rail guns and plasma weapons normally mounted on Valkiir ships of this size category.
Often the only clue that a Switch Blade is in the area is a salvo of torpedoes slamming into a cargo ship, exposed warship, defense platforms suddenly exploding, or a team of commandoes bursting into a communications and control center.

Notes
Often considered a force multiplier the stealth frigate is intended to fill the role of a Hunter Killer submarine or U-boat. it is seldom seen and brings a bead of sweat to the forehead of many ships attempting to supply forces hostile to the Valkiir or Imperium. When employed in wolf packs the Stealth frigate is capable of inflicting damage far in excess of a fleet of larger warships.

The US Navy Has been experimenting with stealth surface ships to be used in a similar manner. as well as constructing several purpose built submarines for covert operations and surveillance duties.

Seems like the Tau have allied themselves with the Turians

(The designs are very much alike)

would you believe me if I said I have no idea what your talking about.....didnt think so

Β

I liked the turian designs they have a quick lethal look to them that I used for inspiration. This version is one of my older works. the Pattern is a common thread for ValkiirΒ  and Tau warships in Later desings.

Hmm... I wonder... I'm currently doing a story on Fanfiction, where I pretty much include sci-fi's ranging from Warhammer and Star Trek, to Star Wars, Mass Effect and Halo, just to name a few. The Tau are going to show up later on, and I'm halfway set on using your ships for descriptions on the Tau ships. How do you consider that idea?

Thanks, I will

The Warhammer has yet to show up, probably won't for a good time yet, but I'll definitely be using these designs. If you want a look at the story so far, just write up my name in Fanfiction under "Writers"Β

Wow, very impressive. You`ve put much thought into the capabillities of this vessel, but which universe is it set in? I`m guessing Warhammer 40,000?. the ship design looks alot like those of turian crusiers from the Mass Effect series which im guessing inspired that. A brilliant design and back story, good work

THANK YOU

Yes I liked the turian designs, this is heavly inspired by them. I liked the profile and the variable wings thaat actually served a purpose. mother ships in this series do add the turian touches but have more original elements added to it.

the universe is not 40k.... that world is already so fleshed out I couldn't add anyting to it. I created the universe as part of a project for my play by post games over at RPOL.NET. and began to flesh it out adding a few races and other groups.
