Description
This began as a much darker, more esoteric piece that was originally meant to depict the character of Oliver Haddo from W. Somerset Maugham's 1908 novel "The Magician" in which the titular character (Haddo) was originally based on Aleister Crowley - who Somerset knew personally (unfortunately for Somerset). But my original idea for the piece went completely out the window and I instead ended up taking it in a far trippier, more psychedelic direction.One of my other pics also has a little cameo in this piece.

The character is Choronzon - the demon of dispersion and the final obstacle in the way between the adept and ascension in certain mystical philosophies.
