I did this in the free time I had at the salon today. I just...I dunno why I did this, but I did. Guess I sort of lapsed into something in the dead silence between phonecalls. You could consider it to be angst work if you'd like.

Checke'...looks like she learned to fly afterall, but does she really like it? She was never meant to roam the skies, but now that she's tasted the freedom her wings have to offer, it'll be hard for her to land once more. Just when she thought she was stable in life, something new and unexpected shook her up and carried her off... No staff this time because it's such a huge, clunky thing. I wanted this piece to be sweet, somber, and very solemn. Instead she's holding a ring on a chain, much like how I have Colin's class ring on a dogtag/ball chain. I wear it every day, every night, and I never take it off. My guess is that Checke's just trying to hold on to a bit of the distant earth.

I'm so tired, exhausted even. Stressed too. I've fallen a bit behind in school and I can't work up the motivation to get things done anymore. Things are alright between me and Colin, but the long distance is seriously...it's stressing me out like you wouldn't believe. I feel so frazzled and worn out and I've never been this way before. Hell if I'll let that keep me down though.


Honestly I don't know what the hell I'm saying about this piece. It just...IS. So if you like it, kudos, if you don't then who the hell cares. I sure don't. Not gonna colour this or ink it for that matter. I like the sketchy feel to it, so it'll stay as it is.

Is that what the saying really is? I pulled mine off of a song I heard on the radio, but I've forgotten who sang it. All I remember about it was, "Baby I know, it's easy to learn how to fly, it's coming down that's hard."

Yeah yeah, I know it's a classic rock song because that's what I mostly listen to (woo for me, go GNR!!) I've heard similar sayings but this one...well, it struck home for me and I couldn't help but draw it out. Makes me miss my boyfriend... My school and his Naval base are a couple thousand miles apart, so that's a bummer. But eh, we're getting through it fantastically.

Well, I do like it, and just the way it is! The sketch-effect it has just adds to the emotion from the picture. You must've really been feeling something strong when you drew this!

Heh, I kind of, in some way, know how you feel, actually. I've got someone who lives on the other side of the country... it's a bit different, though, you're situation is a lot tougher than mine. But at least in some way I can sympathize... Sorry you've got to be going through that.

Anyway, back to the image, I think it looks great. The anatomy is amazing, as per usual. The hair is fantastic! I love how you draw hair, it's so flowing and natural, downright beautiful. Great work on this... expressive and beautiful. Nicely done <^^>

Ugh, college eh? Sometimes it's not all it's cracked up to be, but more often then not, it is. I'm just having a bit of a rough time with it. Moved away from friends, family and a boyfriend (who moved even FARTHER away because he joined the NAVY...what a loon. )

I love what I'm doing, honestly I do, but sometimes....it's one of those things where you have to question, "Why the HELL am I doing this again?!" but eh, I get over those usually.

So what about you, whatcha been up to? School going ok, and what're you studying?

yeah I know lol its been awhile o.O. I've been so damn busy I just never have the time or energy to browse or comment on pics anymore.

Im in the same boat you are darlin lol I feel the exact way, it can really take its toll. and my girlfriends going to be moving a couple provinces away next year so Im kinda dreading that lol.

but schools be going pretty good for me, Im taking Digital Animation at NSCC Truro. nothing to fancy lol. its alot of fun but can be just as frusterating at times lol.
other then that I havent been up to much lol. sleeping, TV, cooking, cleaning (cleaning most of all lol)
nothing overly exciting.

Ach, well, we've all been busy. I still log in here as often as I can to browse through things and fav them, but I miss out on so many great pieces of art because I only get on for a few minutes. Otherwise...I get suckered in for hours and I don't do schoolwork. Baaaad.

Sorry to hear about you and your girl, I really am. Feels like you're the only two people in the world who are going through it, doesn't it? I know that how I feel sometimes. Why is she moving, and how long is she going to be gone? Man, that's killer...come talk to me if things get frustrating for ya, ok? I'm all ears (or eyes).

Ooooh, animation, and digital nonetheless. Very cool! I know what you mean about it being fun but frustrating. How many classes are you taking? What sort of system are you guys on (quarter, trimester, semester)? I know at my school we're on the quarter system, so we have 11 weeks to learn 30 weeks of schooling. Ahhhh, cramming!!! Every single week we've got some huge ass project that would normally take a few weeks to complete, but we have to fit it into 1 week, and still make it look fantastic, like some sort of portfolio piece. Gar...

Sleep, psh. Lucky you! I'm lucky if I get a few hours a night! I stay up late working on schoolwork then get up at 5 to beat the traffic to school! Therefor, I love weekends. Lemme see, cooking and cleaning too? You've turned into a little housewife!! I can't cook to save my life, so instant noodles are my god. Cleaning on the other hand...I clean every once in a while at home, but I'm the shop manager/keeper where I workd so I get to run around and make sure everything is in tip top shape. Which is really hard to do, seeing as I work in a hair salon and there's hair freakin' EVERYWHERE, and the fact that I have a massive phobia of hair. How the hell I landed that job, I'll never know, but I did, and it's paying well. (Unfortunately, I can't use any of that money for supplies or gas because I have to save up to where I have $3,000 so I can open up a money market account. I have...$341. Chaching?)

lol thanks I apprciate that she's moving to toronto to go to college next year, its really not that bad. I wont see her for a year but Im moving there after I finish college next year. so then we'll be living together <3.

as for classes we're semestered so 4 semseters over 2 years. as of right now Im taking History of animation, Animation design yr1, layout and design yr1, sound recording, life drawing, exparemental animation, and Buisness communications(bleh!). its the same here lol plenty of projects and never anytime to do em XD.

lol wow it sounds like you have some crazy busy days there. I live right behind the college so its only a 3 min walk to the campus. XD Housewife. that seems to be my new nickname cause I get called one constantly by everyone lol.oh well at least I know I can make it on my own if I have to lol.
phobia of hair eh? lol thats a new one. I wish I could have a job here but I have no means of transportaion so Im gonna have to wait until I go home this summer.
