I like everything in there, a whole lot. The planet makes me jealous. THough I do not agree wiht the composition of the items in there. Seems too random..
I should be getting msn again, so maybe we can chat some time..

Well, the planet cuts off the background. It goes from nebula, to a little bit of a forked star feild, HUGE PLANET, and then the stars. I just think the planet cuts off too much, and thus, makes it seem a bit random. Try to put yourself in someone else's shoe, glance at the picture, and maybe you will see what I am talking about.

I don't know why, but I think, this picture is great. I really don't know why. Maybe, because I like science fiction and astronomy...

get rid of those lines... it ruins the mood of the piece i think... if you were to take them out it would look more real... try it and see what i mean.

I didn't want to give a more realistic feeling for this one. I wanted a more artistic enviormnet (fuck how do I spell this shit?!) using the classic frames with a dynamic work in the planet.
Also, unfortunately (another word that I don't remember how to spell) you was the only one taking this piece in this way and critiquing (again!) those lines.

we don't have matching views.. i won't critique your work anymore if you don't critique mine, it's not even worth it.

but is where we wanna go when we showcase our artwork: searching for poeple that have different matching views from us and can critique things that we don't see.
Am I wrong?

but you don't gain a thing from my critiques, you just argue them back.. and the same with me.

Well I respect your personal opinion and you can be sure I will think twice before making something like that again, but you also gotta understand my point. I made something from a personal style and it's not because one opinion between several others I'll make such big change on an old artwork.

This is really good. Did you model this after Earth, can clearly see Africa, Saudi Arabia in the night side, and China's coast with Hong Kong and also Indonesia in the day side. Does anyone else see this? Anyway, it's a very nice piece.

It's clearly visible in my ID, but as it was a quick work I didn't worry up remodeling the continents.
Anyway I'll move it to scraps when I submit something new.

About stars, you can finnd countless good tutorials around the net.
About the nebulae, *alyn said once tutorials are meant to destroy all the hope of new original arists with artworks where they put time and all their effort. After Greg's tutorials, 80% of the upcoming "space artists" did starfields and planets exactly like the one on the tutorial.
Plus, nebulaes, as galaxies, are the product of very hard work on brushing, researches, annd most important of all, originality.
Inn the beggining I wanted so much to find nebulae tutorials because that seemed impossible to me. After much hard work I could come with this style completly develped by my own, and everyday I improve it.
I appreciate very much your feedback and specially the , but I apologize, because you will never see tutorials made by me (at least soon)
I hope you understand wath I mean and if yes, I wish good luck with your artworks!
