Description Take a look at me and my deviations.
Did I insult you?
Did I bash on your sexual orientation?
Did I say you deserve to die?
Did I say that everyone who didn't believe in my beliefs are evil?
Did I insult your intelligence?
Did I say that women shouldn't have rights?
Did I say that babies are more important than any other human life?
Did I bash on your beliefs/religion?
Did I say anything along the words "YOU WILL GO TO HELL, SINNER" in this paragraph?
Did I go to your page and say "LOOK AT MY DEVIATION ABOUT GOD"?
Did I say that science is wrong?
Did I say that I don't believe in anything evolution has to say?
Did I say "YOU BETTER BELIEVE WHAT I SAY" ?
Did I say "I'M RIGHT AND YOU'RE WRONG"?
Did I say "I'M SPECIAL, TREAT ME LIKE IT" ?

Now you have to accept the well-known fact that I'm a Christian.

Looking at all that, am I that bad? Or are you still going to put me into the stereotypical section with those Christians who actually do give Christianity a bad name?

Hell, religion shouldn't even be the first thing on your mind.

I know alot of people don't, but I know a few people who still do stuff like this. This was more like a rant stamp. Sorry to waste your time, guys. Carry on

Now, now my dear I don't hate your faith because of someones ignorance I hate your faith because your God is a hypocrite and he knowingly created evil.

You can be Christian, I can be Atheist, nobody needs to be insulted and everyone can go home happy.
Honestly, (and no offence) I don’t really care if people are or are not religious, as long as they are good people I can and am willing to be their friend, I just am not religious, that’s all.
But this is a very true statement, not a lot of people get it.

I agree. Why can't people just get it? I'm a Christian myself, and yes, I do get a lot of these insults, but I don't give a rats on what people say about me

Yes. I honestly think Ghandi had a point when he said, "Ah, Christianity! Too bad it's never been tried." The faith itself is not the problem, the people who abuse it are.

Here's my opinion; you seem like a good human being. That is enough for me to respect you.

All gender/races/religions/skin colors/countries; have their share of complete idiots; I will treat you the way you deserve to be treated on behalf of how you treat other species and your own. And more people should think this way; but unfortunately...

On the other hand, faith in humanity is having absolute belief in something (That humans are kind) in spite of a tremendous amount of proof to the contrary.

This is so true. People are dissing my religion just from the tall tales they're told. If they would only ask me questions, rather than point and call names, I could educate them a bit on things they're curious about.

It's actually really sad that any religion or belief (or lack thereof in atheism's and agnosticism's cases) should be defined by the really loud and annoying fringe groups you overdo things.

I am personally an empirical agnostic and former Methodist Christian/short-term atheist and find bashing on religious beliefs without sufficient provocation or research on the matter to be illogical, but having seen many different sides of the coin, I find your description of this stamp somewhat more defensive than necessary, in ways that might invite/provoke potentially antagonistic individuals into coming here. I understand this is a rant, but I just think it invites the people it's targeting to come and do exactly what you don't want them to do: Bash your beliefs, and probably a few other things while they're at it, such as your art, and you as well. Take for example some of the very comments preceding mine by just a matter of days. While not impolite, they are voicing disagreement, are they not? I'm sure you understand. I'm only cautioning you, not attacking you myself. As I said, I find individuals who choose to aggressively dispute the beliefs of others without sufficient provocation to be, frankly, unenlightened and foolish, correctness or lack thereof of their beliefs aside. It's just that they may perceive this as provocation, and they appear to be doing so. Thank you for your time, ma'am, and I hope my use of it and my own was constructive for you.

I can't hate religion. Honestly, if it weren't for religion we would not have incredible works of art, good stories to tell, and impossibly beautiful structures built around the world during a time when they didn't have gas engines, or cranes (Notre Dame for example.)

I personally don't give a shit what people like to believe happened to cause the world's creation, their religion, etc. As long as they treat it as what it really is, a personal belief, that they were brought up with by complete chance, based on where you were born and raised.

Well, the problem is I have problems with the basic tenets of Christianity.

Which is 1) human beings are inherently evil, 2) you only go to heaven if you believe and even if you can't believe but want to, sucks to be you, and 3) infinite punishment for finite sins.

So unless you can tell me you don't believe in any of that, then yeah, I'm still going to have a problem with your faith. Not gonna bash it or whatever, but I'm gonna have a problem with it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

XxDiaLinnxX In reply to Baekhesten [2012-04-06 15:28:14 +0000 UTC]

1) We all deserve judgement because we all have committed sin. Does that make us evil? No. It makes us all sinners (people who have disobeyed God). Evil is the root of sin, which is Satan. I do not believe in Universalism, however, where everyone is eternally deserving to be in Heaven, because that would be something like this: --> [link]

2) You could believe in God and still refuse to accept salvation that is practically given to you (Jesus Christ's death and resurrection), and THAT is what keeps you from eternal life. It's all about choice. I know alot of people who said they would ignore Him if He did in fact exist simply because they don't want authority over themselves. It's never God's fault that one does not choose to accept His road to salvation. He is merciful to those who have a genuine heart and truly seek him, but if He were to make you believe by just showing up right in front of you, that'd be interfering with your free will, like a scare tactic.

3) For God to be a just God, there has to be judgement for those who have disobeyed Him. He doesn't play favorites, unlike the belief of Universalism. I cannot determine whether or not you are going to hell, because judgement on everyone's salvation or discipline is God's job, not ours. When you make a choice, God is not going to force you into either destination against your will.

I don't mind if people have a problem with it, it's quite understandable in some cases. Everyone has a right to disagree. But when people stoop down to insults and personal attacks, and abusing their freedom of expression to harass me for something I did not do, that's when I draw the line.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Baekhesten In reply to XxDiaLinnxX [2012-04-13 14:52:21 +0000 UTC]

1) Except infinite punishment for finite sin is wrong, wrong, and wrong. And I wasn't even talking about punishment. I was talking about the concept that human beings are inherently evil and will do evil unless there is authority over them to make them do good.

2) Except some people just CAN'T make themselves believe in God. It's like making yourself believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster. You can tell yourself you believe it all you want, but you really won't believe. Just like you can't magically stop believing in God, other people can't magically start. It has nothing to do with accepting salvation or not; plenty of people would LOVE to accept salvation but they can't get past the first stepβ€”believing in God.

3) Except it's an unjust judgement. That's like saying, "Well, you can choose to come with, or you can choose to leave, but if you choose to leave I'm going to shoot you."

I think the problem is that Christianity as a religion believes all that, it's an immoral religion. Either you really believe in it and you're despicable, or you add your own garnish to it but don't *really* believe in it.

see, the thing is though, that in order to believe in christ, you must believe the bible to be the infallable word of god, which means that you must believe in the teachings of the bible (death as a punishment for homosexuality, adultry, demons, etc)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SionnaDehr In reply to StanleyTheCabbage [2012-04-04 04:03:14 +0000 UTC]

That's. Not. A requirement. In order to believe in Christ, you must accept that He is the son of God who died for your sins and rose again three days later. You don't have to believe anything else the Bible says except that little bit. Everything else is optional. Heck, even living the Christian life is optional. All you have to do is believe. A Christian and a believer are not the same things. A believing Christian is all put together without the legalism.

SionnaDehr In reply to StanleyTheCabbage [2012-04-04 12:43:28 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but learning the Word of God is the next step in Christian Walk, not salvation. Believing that the Bible is infallible is not a requirement.

StanleyTheCabbage In reply to SionnaDehr [2012-04-04 21:35:57 +0000 UTC]

well, the thing is, to believe that christ is lord of lord and king of kings the earthly embodiment of god, you must believe that it is true and legit when he says 'if you do these things you will be cast into hell as a sinner'

People shouldn't be looked down upon based on what they believe in. If they are an Atheist I'll respect them, even if they don't respect me and make fun of me for believing in God instead of arguing with them I will just simply ignore them and walk away...that's okay right?
