Now retired, this famous ocean liner is permanently moored in Long Beach CA.

The red and black funnels are emblematic of the Cunard Line. Did you know that for four years I worked for Cunard on the Queen Elizabeth 2? (The QE2 is now docked in Dubai ... used as a floating hotel, her sailing days are over.) A funny anecdote: Whilst I was working on the QE2 we docked in San Pedro and I and a bunch of crew members (mostly British) took a bus to Long Beach to see the Queen Mary ... mind you I was a member of the staff (equivalent of a 2 and 1/2 stripe officer!) ... and when we got to the Queen I went up to the admission gate and explained we were Cunard employees and crew of the Queen Elizabeth 2 at the beginning of our Around The World Cruise. "Can we can a discount on the admission fee?" I asked. The manager was summoned and he said he was delighted to see us and we could tour the ship free of charge!!!! One of the reasons I'm in public safety now and wear a uniform has to do with my quasi-military (I had to join the British Royal Merchant Navy) service!

That’s alright I live in Florida’s Space Coast. I rather see the Space X rockets go off from Cape Canaveral than to go on another boat and wreck with my curse. Your Queen is safe from me!
