Description Over some months midway through the year I have been practicing and studying various character designs from video games. Tends to be a somewhat enlightening experience, especially with characters from fighting games.

Seeing as how I'd like to get everything done in 2010 submitted within that year, here we go.

------------

Sarah has almost always been a truly under-appreciated character in Shining Force 2.

She is typically the ultimate girl next door in the game, she starts of as that over achieving bitchy friend of the main character - but her sense of whats right and no-nonsense attitude really starts to make her stand out.

She wears the usual priestly like robes that a blue haired elf girl (teenaged jailbait elf girl) could wear. Which is modest but practical - if you end up promoting her she just looks awful in Viceroy robes.

However, just like any typical story with a girl next door - you later find out after she gets a lil older that she has one lean mean fighting machine under her robe if you go Master Monk. Hell of a body too, and the kicker - she's actually stronger than the main character if you tweak her right.

I like the traditional robes, I like the Master Monk outfit - shes got a bit of class. Not completely oversexed and enough character development to make her actually interesting. Kinda sucks that she gets totally pushed out of the way for the Princess in the game at the end and not get the guy.

Btw- Side Note.

When playing Shining Force 2, as soon as you leave Granseal for the first time with your party of 4. If you head south you can find Power Water in the Shrine of Light and Darkness. Use it out of battle on Sarah, and you'll make her a pretty damn good Melee fighter even WHILE SHES A FREAKIN PRIEST. Just keep using her till shes ready to be a Master Monk, and you'll have one of the most Overpowered characters in the game.

My priests were so far ahead of everyone else. By far the best members on the team. While I was stuck on this one area with characters too weak to win, but I still wanted to level more before promoting them, I had to hold my monks back so they didn't steal all the kills. XP for healing is the best.

Hehehe Sarah by far is one of the best characters in the game... especially if you do the power water trick at the begining - shes almost unstoppable.

...once again I'll say this GODFUCKINGDAMMITWHYTHEFUCKDIDSHEGETSOFUCKINSHAFTEDINTHEFUCKINGEND... seriously.

I didn't use the Power Water on her, but she was still a goddamn health-spouting-bulldozer.
And, to be fair, Bowie's a twerp anyway, so she didn't miss out.

Very True, but Kazin is such a...dork. Granted he used to be my favorite but then his dialog kicks in and it's like "Wow, this guy is too much of a wimp for a chick as bad ass as Sarah"

Those are some good tips for when I go and finally buy this game! I had a prolonged loan of this game when I was young, and honestly it's one of my favorite Sega games. I don't recall ever getting Sarah as a Master Monk, but I think I didn't use her enough either. Next time I play through I should have her in my party more.

The power water trick will make you almost always use her, it never fails.

I'll have to give that a shot some time.

Oh yeah, it's worth it - I don't know if it was a bug with Powerwater or not. Since Powerwater effects go away if you use it during a battle but are permanent outside of it.

If it was intentional, why would anyone EVER use it in a battle then? But then again, if it wasn't intentional...why would it be so rare?

Hmm... You're right. It does sound sort of buggy but at the same time it's like it's been kept there. Wierd.
