Events in my life some time ago made me feel this way. I have mentioned the list I keep of images to shoot. I write the topic down and put comments next to them about what I was feeling at the time. This was the third on my list of about a hundred or so.Next to 'broken' I wrote: She left. He's gone. It's no longer exists for me. I am lost. It all means stuff to me. The word RAIN on the bottle is symbolic of course. The second I saw this type of vodka I knew what I was shooting.
This is a static shot except for the water. Fishing line, glue, tons of setup, other people helping with the water and about 6 hours got this shot. I was an a-hole to the people helping while I shot it. They have come to understand it. I am a lunatic when I shoot something emotional.
After this click the setup collapsed and everything was destroyed. This click was good enough thank goodness. Had to clean up the background a bit and remove a few water spots here and there...
Will dA stay up? Will it go down? Guess I picked a bad day to put this up... LOL

I really love this piece. It has a very special meaning to me that I would like to share, because I think you should know how your work can affect people so much.
Growing up, my mother was an alcoholic. She never bothered to hide her jug of rum until one day I snapped and took it out and threw it against the house. I was about 13 when this happened. After that, she hid them and whenever I found them - they shared the same fate as the first. So, broken glass.....it reminds me of the power something can have over someone else, even when it destroys their life and alienates their loved ones, and also of the power to break free. My mother never did, she drank herself to death almost three years ago, but I'm free. I am not scared all the time, and I can live in my skin now, which I couldn't before. The power her alcoholism had over our entire family was astonishing. I couldn't look people in the eyes, and my brothers were always so angry at the world. We all smile now, and we are close and loving. And we talk about it. The power of her addiction is broken.....

I've got some deep-set admiration of you.
I'm not much of a photographer, or a photographic connoisseur, but your hugely elaborate setups on here, and mostly all of your gallery have blown me away. Reading your journal, this 'Genuine Conceptual Photography' thing has intruiged me.
Feel tempted to 'try my hand' at some 'crafts' with photography, but not feeling all too confident with my cheap camera and lack of 'studio things'.
But, in any case, Your images rock my world man!

Great shot, I've just came from set in Warsaw, where they shot an sugar cubes being droped into cup of coffee. They have used special camera that is able to shot film on incredible number of 1000 frames per second. I guess it would be really usefull here, you would end up with a lot of interesting effects I guess.

I love the set up of the broken glass pieces too 
Im curious though how you managed the water.. did people just throw random glasses of water at the set up ? lol

I love the way it seems to have broken BEFORE it hits the ground. Accidently reading one of the other comments I see you mean it bounced when it broke, but to me it seems to be breaking of it's own accord, instead hitting the ground... fitting that with the leaving theme, her going leaves you falling but the bit that hurts is the inward anger and lashing out at oneself, instead of the cold flat outside world that gets blamed.
Great stuff as always, and I'm still trying to figure out how you did this ^_^;
