Description Fallout: Equestria, Civilian Arms.

Before the war Equestra had very small gun culture, for ponies did not hunt for food and had never had a war involving guns. Equestria was also a rather peaceful land when dealing with other ponies, where real violence was relatively uncommon. The only ponies who used, maintained, and made guns were those who lived in more wild areas, or practiced sport target shooting. There were only two gun focused companies in equestria, Colt Manufacturing company, who primarily made revolvers, and Winchester Repeating arms, who focused on lever action and breach action guns.

Both companies would see a major boom in business during the war as the Equestria gun culture saw rapid growth in members, all looking for the best gun to protect themselves in a now growing violent Equestria. The older guns produced by the companies would be increasingly modernized through the war often focusing on more solid and reliable guns of which they both promised would last for generations. The new classic guns were more seen as artwork or decoration by many who bought them, prefuring the more modern guns that were used in the war. Fortunately for those ponies, when their modern guns fail them after the war, the classic guns more than proved their worth in helping ponies survive the wasteland.

-Defense Revolvers-

Before the Ironshod 10mm, the Defense Revolver was the primary sidharm for law enforcement, commonly chambered in .357 rounds. This kind of revolver was seen as the most reliable gun any pony could have, and often one or two of them were kept as a backup. The small caliber Defense Revolvers were considerably more popular among mares, as the guns was less noisy and had a less powerful recoil.

In the wasteland the smaller caliber Defense Revolver can be found all over, often used by poor wastelanders who prefer to have a weak gun over no gun. Though rare, the police variance of the Defense Revolver can still be found in long lost places, the unexpectedly powerful and sturdy guns often highly prized by those who own them.

-Sports Revolvers “Cowpony Gun”-

Bigger, better, louder. Though primarily used for sport shooting, or as the backup when monter hunting, the Sports Revolver is the most unwieldy of muzzle fired weapons, yet ponies often fantasize using them. The revolvers saw limited use in the war, quickly falling out of favor due to its difficult loading mechanism in which required skill and finesse to do properly. The gus would also see extensive exposure on the silver screen, making the guns a Iconic must have for collectors.

Though primarily produced by Colt, the .44 magnum revolver IF-18 "Horseshoe" was produced by Ironshod and quickly became popular late in the war, with the most sought after verant being the ones with a high quality scope built onto it. Built with the same sturdiness as much of Ironshod guns, they remain among the most powerful muzzle fired weapons even after 200 years in the wasteland.

-Abyssinian Pistols-

An import form the strange catfolk, these exceptionally small pistols could be hidden almost anywhere on a pony and were. The favored gun of spies, theis pistols were commonly used in hits and assassinations, the pop of the shot often not being recognized as gunshots by those around.

A rarity in the wasteland itself, the Abyssinian Pistols are more commonly owned by powerful ponies who survive by keeping a hidden dagger and an unseen gun on them at all times.

-Derringer-

Originally a griffin invention as an easily hidden gun, this small gun found popularity among the wealthy upper class mares of Equestria. Commonly commissioned, the Derringer was often treated like hidden jewelry, some decorated with precious stones and metals.

In the wasteland, the gun would find new life among the remnants of the Equestria navy’s leadership. Rechambered for .45 rounds, it would be primarily used by Unicorns as a weapon of surprise, with the pony keeping up to six of them on their body. Though weak and short in rage, aboard the ships the small gun proved good enough to kill whoever the pony wanted dead,

-Lever Action-

These guns were quickly turned down for the war due to the difficulty in cycling when prone. Outside of the war, the Lever Action Rifles and Shotguns were among the most popular gun early war, and most foals would get their first experience with a gun through a lever action BBgun.

Though with many shortcomings, the Lever Action guns proved good enough for civilians throughout the war, many finding the gun to be the most fun to use, and least difficult to maintain. After the war Lever Action would reamerger from hobby gunsmiths, rechambering the gun to any pistol round they needed the gun to fire in. Most sought after are the Bush guns that fire larger caliber pistol rounds with deadly accuracy.

-Breech Action-

Mainly used for shotguns, the breech action guns are both the most basic, and the most effective shotguns that can be found. Seen as the best home defence gun due to its simplicity, almost every house had a double barreled shotgun hidden in a closet.

In the wasteland, it is not uncommon to see ponies using a short barreled shotgun, the cut down weapon often being holstered like a pistol, giving the pony a quick and easy two shot answer to most problems.
