Inspired by "I'm your geisha tonight" ( [link] ) A photograph by ~lagatafritz which she graciously gave me permission to paint.I didnt hit the mark as far as likeness goes, but I like the painting very much anyway.
I felt something when I saw the photo...not able to explain it. There was a williness to be vulnerable in her eyes. It's beautiful.

this is sooo cool
the painting is much more expressive, but i guess it is the medium and the fact that you changed the original expression , wich does not happen usually in a good way when someone follows a reference

Maybe it's because I'm taking astronomy this semester, this piece reminds me of the universe...possibly not in the physical sense..I dunno. Charmingly....beautiful...

I think you are really going somewhere with your painting this is excellent. Dont like the obtrusive signature though but then thats a pet hate of mine that most people aren't bothered about.

Oh i can definatly see picture in your painting! I like how yours is more textured though, add depth the photo seems to lack (to me anyway)

How are you doing? You've probally wondered where I went huh? i've been dealing with things. I've thought about ending it all (if you know what im saying) but i talked myself out of it, and decided to change my life because if it got to the point i want to end it, the things im living for aren't worth it. i dont know. i had to make decisions and time to think. im lonely too. I really like the painting more than the original photo. The photo is great but your painting gives the "geisha" more expressions and characters.
