Hey everybody!Wow, I'm on a roll. I've posted two days in a row now. It's been a while since I've had this kind of momentum.
This is item number 3 on the 100 Word List, "Light." Similar to what I did with "Dark," I decided not to take the word so literally and interpret it in a less-expected way. In this case, I could have easily made an image that utilized whites and yellows and angels and the sun or whatever, but it gave me a good excuse to try using black light colors.
It was a bit of a challenge. Sometimes it's hard to see the lineart when everything around it is so dark (or worse, when one color is really bright and intense and it kind of blinds your view of the darker areas, no joke). I hope the image isn't too hard to see here on DA, especially since it'll be surrounded by a lighter color.
It's certainly not my most impressive work, but it was fun to make and it was a good experiment considering the color palette.

Awww, you can't get it printed on some sort of special canvas? I mean, usually places like Kinkos can do that. It costs a bit, but it's worth it.

This is very beautiful! I love the mix of colors. I like how you interpreted this differently. That makes it 10x original. Haha, yeah, I'm a little sick of seeing angles and light and the sun and such things for 'light'. XD

Yeah, I try to be pretty original where the 100-Word Challenge is concerned. "Dark" and "Light" are two words I wasn't looking forward to, but I think I made due quite well with them. ;D

Yeah, I dabbled in it a bit about a year ago, and then kind of drifted away from it. I haven't picked it back up since because I think I've forgotten how to use it.

This makes me want to source UV-reactive spot inks and head down to an offset printer.
I screw around with highlighter tattoos a couple times a year at blacklight parties and have found that digital photos and a monitor, LCD photo frame, connected TV, etc. is by far the best way to present that kind of stuff. You have captured much of the effect perfectly here with your color use.

Thank you! Yes, working with these colors was kind of a nightmare and it's a shame that an image like this will likely never print normally with conventional inks, but the effect that I was able to achieve is rewarding because it's such a challenge. I'm glad that you like it!

Hehe, I can't imagine it would look too good printed. Most of the colors don't seem to conducive to CMYK. But yeah, it would be a pretty neat shirt!

God, I love the contrast with the wicked dark purple and the almost GLOWING neon turquoise. And how the pink acts almost as a midtone between the two.
