Now we got good light on this... Great job on that one... Now, if you wanna take your renders one step further into making them look cooler...

Try to mess around with the settings of the maps that u used for it... I know they are simply one color maps, and that is cool, you don't necessarily need to put textures to achieve a cool effect... This is what I suggest... Mess around with the Anistrophy and Glossiness values of the maps, if you can switch to a "Metal" based map... Then mess with those two values... What I always use ranges from 40-80 for anistrophy and 30-60 for glossiness... It all depends... For an added touch of coolness you might want to put a "Raytrace" material for the reflection map.. It will make your render time go to heaven but it may have an awesome result... Is all in messing and fiddling with the values dude... And of course... Your choice of lights and their respective colors and intensities...

deffinetly have to give that a shot, i typically us anisotropy as a material. and put a different color on the specularity. but ill give the metal a shot to see how that looks. and ill try the raytrace mat as well! thanks for the suggestion!

[link] prog render of my current project let me know what you think! i am looking for a way to smooth out some of the angles in the curves if you know an easy way i can go about that without loosing my sharp edges please let me know!

the thicker barrelled guns are energy based, but they are also still progress turrets, placeholders more than anything, the actual turrets have not yet been built
