[EDIT] If you make use of the tutorial let me know~ :3 I'd love to see the results!

[EDIT 2] Fixed a couple of typos~

The first of a few tutorials I plan to do.
Since people where interested in lighting and someone asked me more specifically how I did this photo: [link] I figured I'd start off with something simple that only requires natural light.

Feel free to let me know if there's something that doesn't make sense or could do with more explanation.

Other shots using his technique or very similar:

Hello! I tried my best to use this tutorial on a picture of mine! I liked the tutorial, also, with the credits. This is the picture: musumedesu.deviantart.com/art/…

Thanks so much for doing this! It has really motivated myself to practice and improve!

This is one of the best photography tutorial I have seen. Useful for even non-BJD cases.

Mind if I share on my tumblr? O3O

What kind of lens do you use darling?

Geekisthecolour In reply to Tay-McKay [2013-07-22 10:01:04 +0000 UTC]

If I remember correctly (though I could be wrong because I made this tutorial a long time ago) I used a 50mm 1.4/f for this, though largely these days I'm shooting with a 28-75mm 2.8/f

I love this tutorial. Not that I have dolls to work with But I do love to photograph and this is sure to come in handy. Maybe I'll even get into dolls. Great work. Thanks for sharing.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! It's a technique that can apply to shooting other things too (like still lifes etc or even portraits if you have a big enough window) so I'm glad you found it handy ^^

Well done: concise and clear to read, and the presentation/composition is so well designed that it enhances unobtrusively. Thanks. (Plus, I learned from it.)
