Description Continuing my fun little sprite project, I bring these three new sprites. Prior to making these, I had taken a rather long break from pixelling. As usual, I procrastinated on doing these, and instead planned on doing them in the last week of September. I didn't actually get around to working on these until October 2nd, a day after they were supposed to reveal themselves. So, having been absent from the pencil tool for twenty days, and feeling a bit rushed, my first one didn't turn out particularily great. I am, however, quite pleased with the other two that I did the evening of October 3rd.

Unlike last month, not one of these is a pixel-over. I used a few images for pose and color reference, but I did not shrink down and trace over the pictures this time. These three are completely scratch, and made for great practice.

Again, all sprites made in Photoshop.

Marth - character from Super Smash Brothers Melee, originated in the game Fire Emblem. Took probably two hours to make. There are many things about this one that I don't care for.

Mewtwo - character from Super Smash Brothers Melee, originated in the game Pokemon. Also took around two hours to make. Possibly my favorite of these three. Pretty much just really happy with the way it turned out ^_^ Colors, shading, form, all just came pretty nicely.

Spire - character from Metroid Prime Hunters. Probably took two to three hours. Hard to say. The weird dithered shading I tried on this took me quite some time. I think it was quite necessary though, and looks pretty darn good. I see a bunch of things that could stand improvement, but love it anyway. Especially love the small palette ^_^

Well, I'm open to criticism. I am not likely to change anything about these ones, but if you have any tips for my future adoptables, let me know. Oh, and if you have any comments about the presentation of them here, I'd like to hear it.

These will remain "available for adoption" for a few days here [link] , then will be replaced with October's unopened adoptables. Hmm... I should get around to making a website for these. Too lazy to commit to that, though.

Thanks, but I stopped making these and I haven't been in the mood to start them up again lately. It's kinda there in my mind on a psuedo to-do list, but I really don't care about them enough. Then again, November's coming up soon and I could pick up where I left off sorta... (but don't count on it)

Ah, I think I know what you mean. Dithering. I used it a lot on Spire. That's what you mean, right?

Glad you like it , but don't sell yourself short - your dolls are awesome! You do clothing folds really well

Oh yeah, and I can't take all the credit for the way they are positioned... I mean, the poses are based on a reference pic even though I didn't pixel-over.

Haha, I'm still smiling from reading your fun responce

yeah! thats it!
*so glad she is surrounded by smart people who can figure out her babbling*
Thatnks for the fold comment, I went through a stage to practice where I would draw random shapes and pixel them. @__@
Even though the poses are, in fact, based off poses, it's still really wicked you could turn them into something so unique.
two tumbs up, dude!

Looking at Spire again, I see that the palette I chose for him is a bit too dark and lacks contrast. I will probably go in and tweak it in the near future. I might also re-do Marth somewhere down the road, too. Mewtwo is definitely my favorite this time.

Anyway, if anyone has criticism towards Spire and Marth, let me know as I might actually get in there and change stuff.

Marth's head is a lil' bit squished, I think. Of course, it may be just me. But...*shrug*

Otherwise, it's cool to see ye around again. ^___^

Yeah, a lot of Marth came out looking weird. I agree that his head's squished.

Glad to be back pixelling. I've missed your thought-provoking journals, nix.
