Ah, so engaging! You really captured the look of a book cover, and kept in theme with the curlicues, gears, and mechanical title, worked into an interesting design.
The diagonal sweep of Artemis and Holly (with that super perspective), the way my eye keeps following the characters round and round, with the explosion simmering in the background--it's the quintessential climax of an Artemis novel.Β
Love all the details, esp. the thought you took to transform their futuristic gear into Victorian (Holly's green/gold wings and blaster). How long did it take to decide which fashions would best fit the characters?

I'm glad you noticed the composition, it took me a long time to figure out one I liked.
I did a bit of research for the costumes, and some preliminary sketches, but not a lot. I already knew what shapes I wanted for each character, so I adapted steampunk cosplay to that.
