Me and Nat are good friends so I obviously had to participate in her DTIYS! I was really proud of the result so I decided to post it here too

This is one of my first detailed drawings of Godzilla himself in quite a while. Despite being a big Godzilla fan I don't draw the big guy himself all that often, mostly because I like drawing other Kaiju more, but I still love Godzilla himself a lot either way! Since I haven't drawn him in a while I ended up improving my way of drawing him while making this drawing. I decided to add more details to him so make him look more accurate to how he does in canon. For once I actually drew his dorsal plates properly too, since I used my Funko Pop Burning Godzilla as reference for drawing them lol. I managed to get this drawing done really quickly since Godzilla happens to be one of the less detailed Kaiju in his franchise. Still had a really fun time drawing the big guy again either way ^^

My favorite part was doing the lighting on this. I always love doing lighting and I had so much fun with this piece, since the background is really dark, compared to Godzilla's lights which are really bright. I think I really managed to balance and blend the blue and orange together really well, which I'm really proud of, since the two of them are complementary colors so they mix a bit harder together. Took me a bit of time to figure out how to draw the smoke, but I eventually got it figured out.

Overall I absolutely loved working on this piece, especially the lighting and details! I am super proud of it and I'm really happy I got to participate in Nat's DTIYS <3
