Isriana — Why Video Games Are Better Than Reality: Part 4

Description For this feat alone I'd be ready to pack my things and move into Skyrim. Sure, I might get myself eaten by a random sabre cat the first time I take a peek outside, but at least I wouldn't have to spend four months coughing and sneezing like I always do in real life. I've caught an annoyingly persistent cold like five times during the past winter alone - I'm telling you, it gets old really fast.
So three things I'd gladly import from Skyrim into my life: Potion of Cure Disease, fast traveling and ability to improve skills just by opening the first page of the book. I'd be more than content with that.

I hope you get better soon! -hugs-

Also we need that one potion of cure disease. It would solve everything!

But of course we need magical magicness.

Skill Books

Skyrim: Gets better at something just by looking at the title page of a book
Real Life: Has to spend many years of life just to learn math

Indeed! As a literature student that's an ability I'd sure appreciate - especially now when I'm in the process of reading tons of books for exams and essays.

You wouldn't import the ability to run forever? (Though not sprint forever)
Or being able to carry 300 pounds of broom god knows where?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Isriana In reply to Warrior536 [2012-05-07 05:39:43 +0000 UTC]

As cool and flashy as those abilities are, I'd say Potion of Cure Disease or even a proper healing spell would still win in my books...

That's exactly how I felt last week, just recently got rid of some virus my doctor -suspected- to be near bronchitis, and all I could think was "Isn't there some shrine or alchemy shop around here?!"...
I guess that's how those poor sickly people in the Whiterun Temple feel, though, the ones that are always moaning and crying out whenever I walk in... =[

Colds are bad. Real bad. Are you free of one at the moment? Funny pic. But... my favourite power would be telekinesis. I know it's not in this pic, but it's just me. Fast travelling would be rather handy. And the cure diseases potion would be equally handy. One of my... problems is I have chronic fatigue syndrome (also known as ME). You used Skaila for this one, didn't you?

My inner envy monster squirms every time I see those fast recoveries. I guess that's also why no one uses eyeglasses there. And having a mana pool would be great too.

Out of all the things you've pointed out this is perhaps the most valid in reality. Why can't we just have single drinks that heals our wounds? Why Reality?

Sure, the fire salts are easy enough to find, but why is it no-one ever has any black soul gems? How do these people expect me to build a fire antronach?

DragonPud In reply to La-Bomba-Frita [2012-05-04 23:28:25 +0000 UTC]

i was getting the black ones off bandits. also, if you buy a few of the homes, like the one in Windhelm, there will be tons of soul gems on the shelves in the enchanting room :} Usually a few black ones there too

I was trying to play along with the whole games vs. reality joke. In the game I just use Azura's Star. Love putting enchantments on regular clothing and fighting bandits in bard's outfits.

lol! I perfectly agree!

I know how it feels catching the same illness several times in a row. We had an infection of Pink Eye running around Upper Michigan a few years back and I caught it three times in two months. And I didn't have minor cases. Oh no, my luck's not good enough for that!
All three of my illnesses were so severe my eyes sting like fire, and most of the time they were glued shut with the crust that formed on my eyelashes.
I'm not joking. It was not fun at all.
