VERY awesome.

It is captures like these that make me joyful.
Were i work it is rare for someone unfortunate as this individual to show up. And when someone that people cast out of society regaurdless of their misfortune, pops up somewhere public, people turn a cold shoulder, or people brush them off because of their appearance.
I always make an effort to start a conversation with these individuals, for they are the ones that have more interesting stories and tell it like it is.

Thanks for the shot

im glad, thankyou.

extend yourself.. i believe in an exchange with photography. the photographer must not take without giving.

get close, deep.. thats where the photos are.

take care, thanks.

i agree, i stopped traffic on kings rd .. one of the busiest shopping districts in london..

got down on my knees.. and shot this man for a good five minutes. right next to me was an entrance to the underground.. so many people walked by and wondered why i was spending time on this man and his dog.

if only they could "see" what i did.

this is a brilliant portrait, but i would say more so for your comment on its intention...

keep your camera eyes open.

I love the ambition and integrity behind the idea of taking this photograph.

To, in many ways, force us to acknowledge the humanity it people we often chose to believe are less-than-human, to see the beauty, love, truth of a person we generally do not notice of them.

THANKYOU.

FUCKING THANKYOU.

this is exactly what i'm talking about.

presenting that which we force ourselves to ignore. we see these people.. maybe only from the corner of our eyes..

walking past them.. forcing ourselves to keep looking STRAIGHT. dont look down!!! change? can you spare some change? no i'm sorry.. of course i CAN, but i WONT. because i dont believe in change, i believe in more of the same..

i just woke up.. your comments have meant alot. you've commented basically on my personal favorites, and in a way.. you've validated alot of these photos that i have felt were left behind here on deviantart..

thankyou.

Its also nice to find somebody who seems to be semi-like minded.

I have a d70 too, so who knows? Mabye we'll have similar pictures in the future.

agree with you good pic!
just a bit sad that the dog is so dark that you can harly see him... dunno, bit of a lack of contrast with his clothes, but not really something you could help.

long to see more of these photos!

he looked like one of those homeless people. great capture of his frown, his face - there's so much characters. it only down side of the picture is the color of the dog and his clothes.

I want to be able to take people pictures like this. There is so much emotion conveyed in this shot, from both subjects, and it makes me wonder what the story is behind this guy. I love it.

The lighting is astounding...it's so raw and it really brings out a rough texture on his face and clothes. But, I think the expression on his face is a sweet one...and it's a shame that most people would just pass that face on by without one look...Thank you for sharing this, I am glad I got to see his face through your photograph.

There is a definite capture of his character here. I like this shot. It's sad - but it's positive, in that you are showing something of this man that many would ignore or pass by. Kudos to a good job.

I really enjoy the harsh b&w tones and the contrast. great focus and although I think the lower part of the portrait gets a bit busy, I think it's essential to the title 'cause I'm assuming one of those names is the cat. nice work.
