Description (Most of this stuff comes from my nation in the second chance Nation Game back on AH.com shared words. I decided it would be a nice idea to post it on here.)

2012 was a year that was rather unremarkable. There wasn't much for countries that were not on top. Unless your nation was one of the better known nations, your power projection was null if at all. The UN, a hodge-podge of nations strewn together for no apparent reason, did little to prevent a multitude of conflicts all over the world. Although liberal democracy was the most prevalent de jure form of government, it was nothing more than show for most of those so called democracies, and for true democracies, ended at their borders.

The results of all of the 21st Century's problems culminated in December, one day before the new year. In almost every major city, a horrendous virus spread like wildfire. Some called it a mutated smallpox virus. Others blamed AIDS. Some called it God's wrath. Whatever it was, it caused massive population change (death rates skyrocketing to 99% in some places) and worst of all, national collapse on all continents (save Antarctica, of course). Only a few pockets of survivors were left, of course though, there were a few pockets of governance left. Take for example, the safe zones of Great Britain...

What follows is an excerpt of the introduction from Edward Santos's book; New Blighty, The History of The Republic of New Britain(La República de Nova Bretaña/Mae Gweriniaeth Newyd Brydain) and is used with the permission of Plata Publications, TM 2112...

"96 years ago, the 8 remaining 'safe zones', Angelsey, Wight, Mann, Swansea, Cornwall, Cumbria, Ayrshire and the Channel Islands were being evacuated. Great Britain had fallen to the infected and these 8 regions were the last vestiges of the UK government on the islands. The 1.5 million people in the safe zones would starve soon as the farms of Britain were in infected territory and the global trade network had shut down. The military made a decision. The people and all other useful things in the safe zones would be evacuated onto 8 huge fleets and then they would sail away in the hopes of a safe destination in the southern hemisphere where there might be a new haven to survive at. It was shortly discovered that the fleets wouldn't have enough fuel and supplies to sail to Australia as had been the original plan so a new destination had to be decided upon. After much desperate radio searching it was discovered Argentina had largely been wiped clean of human settlement, the few survivors of the infection hiding out in fortified city blocks in the abandoned coastal metropolises or forming nomadic hordes inland, so it was decided to land there. The next year was spent rebuilding coastal infrastructure and resettling the abandoned cities. Those Argentinian survivors in the cities joined the British under the conditions that they would be protected as a distinct part of the population and to evacuate other Latin American survivors inland to the coast. It was then that 85 years ago, 11 years after the setting off of the 8 fleets and 15 years after the infection broke out that it was decided to create a new nation, a nation with mixed Welsh, Argentinian, English and Scottish heritage, the Republic of New Britain.
The rest... is history..."

Internal Problems:
-Trade with other nations is quite limited.
-There is (probably?) not much of a military.
-The expansion into the fertile plains of the pampas is not happening as speedily as the government hoped and many farmers blame the government for not giving a larger budget to the CASC (colonisation and settlement committee) as the reason, this is causing unrest amongst those moving west.
-The federalisation of the 8 provinces of New Britain** is not entirely finished and the government is unable to give much attention to anything else while it completes the process, this is causing a few problems in governing New Britain.

**North to south, the provinces and their capitals are:

Points:20

Army: 1.5 (New Britain has no Enemies, the 'army' is more or less a national police force.)
Navy: 4 (New Britain has a huge maritime culture, the navy can project power to some extent for a long distance away.)
Air Force: 2.5 (A good amount of capable planes, but used only for transport, exploration, shipments and long haul trans-oceanic flights.)
Industry & Infrastructure: 3.5 (More than enough to supply the needs and wants of the nation, now expanding to the level that we can begin to trade extensively with other nations.)
Technology & Science: 4 (roughly 1930's level of development in most areas.)
Economy & Society: 3.5 (society is a strange mix of liberalism and light conservatism. The economy is doing very well.)
Intelligence and Foreign Relations: 1 (The government pays a good amount of attention to the outside world, but that's as far as "intelligence" gets.)

National Anthem: The unofficial National Anthem is an adapted version of the Song of the Falklands known as "Our homeland, New Britain!". A contest is currently under way to decide upon the official anthem, due to its popularity "Our homeland, New Britain!" is likely to be chosen.
