Description This is one of the first photos I took using filters - I'd completely forgotten to reset the ISO and exposure compensation on my Nikon but this is one of those happy accidents that post-processing is (almost) able to cure...

I'm fairly pleased with how this one turned out but all constructive comments and critiques will be greatly appreciated.

I'm glad you like it. When you're unsure whether or not submitting a certain picture is a good idea or not, it's receiving comments like this that makes it worthwhile

I like it a lot, and i know what you mean. But aslong as you are happy with it that's all that matters really. Keep the great shots coming

Love the pink tones. What is it with those cursed cloud banks on the horizon that we always seem to get around here ?

Yeah, well rescued. Only thing is that it could be sharper. Nice scene!

LOL, I wish you knew how ironic this comment is. You're absolutely right - the original shot was blurred and I tried to correct it in PSP with the sharpening tool. The problem was the edges became over-sharpened and pixellated so this is literally the sharpest I could get it before that happened. I adjusted the curves a bit and they brought out the light on the rocks in the background, but then the colours seemed over-saturated so I cut that back a bit too.

I think I need to watch a few of those How-To videos you get on Photoshop with Digital Photography mags

Well, I can imagine! But really, you did a good job on it.
I would think that given the high ISO, a big problem with the sharpening is increased noise as well. I hope you get better shooting conditions next time, makes life easier afterwards!

the high ISO = noise never even occurred to me!

I am such a noob!!!

Thanks Tuomas mate
