The MS-E101 "Handyman" is the Administrations battlefield engineer and repair unit. It is exactly as it sounds, a robot engineer, or perhaps mechanic is the best term. The machines design is pretty straight forward. The machine is propelled on two tank treads. The arms serve as manipulators and its repair tools (the wielder tool is pictured here). The body and head is interesting, the head serves purely as a sensor array and plays no part in controlling the actions of the robot. Instead the processor is housed in the torso of the unit. This is because of how big the processor is, it must contain all the blueprints and repair protocols for all of the Administrations robots, vehicles, and structures. The torso also house a small storage space for additional spare parts or for the odd tool not included in the servo claws.

Now the Administration has a strange relationship with robotics. It relies on them, yet it tries not to. This is because most civilians do not become specialists. Many takes jobs that would be largely, or outright replaced by automation. Couple that with the fact that many Administration citizens are barley scraping by as is, the news that they are about to be replaced with automation would cause riots. As such the Administration usually limits if not outright bans automation in civilian sectors. The military however is a different story. With so few left, and even fewer willing to serve in the military, robots are used heavily to prevent the loss of critical personnel. In the case of the Handyman, it replaces the vital engineers reasonable for maintaining and designing the Administrations robots and other technology.

The Handyman's role is exactly as you'd expect. The Handyman conducts in field repairs of Administration robots, vehicles, and structures. In addition they can capture enemy buildings and certain vehicles. Now this last function is not perfect. Being machines they cannot think creatively, and so reply on the latest software patch from intelligence to bypass enemy encryptions and security measures. If the enemy can update or improve their security, it will effectively render the handyman unable to capture anything for awhile. Unsurprisingly the Handyman is completely useless in combat. It has no weapons and its has no armor. If it is shot at it will die instantly. However it does have a program that allows it to build basic bunkers for infantry to occupy, this bunker is only moderately durable but its better than standing in the open.

While one may expect engineers to hate these machines for fear of replaced. However engineers love these things, as they handle all the mundane duties that engineers would rather not do (such as scrubbing the optics on all 50 Clankers in the unit). And although they do not get the same 'pet' treatment as the stalker drones, Handyman often get nicknames and general positive treatment from human troops. Among enemy factions Handyman have become something of a war trophy. Often the Handyman is captured and 'lobotomized' (its systems scrubbed to ensure no way for the administration to control it), and have it serve as a sort of robot butler.
