The Administration takes pride in, and is famous for its heavy combat vehicles. However, these armored behemoths would be useless without logistical support. Without these engineers' to repair the wounds of these mighty beasts, and the supply drivers to deliver fresh fuel and ammunition, such armored powerhouses could never get off the ground. However such people and units never get as much glory as there combat focused brethren. The Sapper Halfmech is one such unsung hero.
The Sapper was always a construction mech, and a particularly successful one. It helped build many settlements and is well liked by both administrators and operators for ease its ease of use, maintenance, and its performance. With this success it was only naturally that the military would make its own version. While its numbers have decreased with the introduction of newer construction models, it remains a staple of the military.
The Sapper got is name from it function in the military. The Sapper was only briefly the main military construction, with heavier models taking over. Instead the Sapper was and is sued as a defensive engineering and support unit. It specializes in the construction of defensive emplacements, landmines being its specialty. It also repair both structures and vehicles. In addition it, with units with lengthy reloads (namely the Javlineer and Boomstick) the Sapper can lend its cranes to help with the reload.
Sappers are workhorses of the Administration military engineering efforts. Engineers love these things, and operators are highly sought after. Vehicle crews also love Sappers for the vital repairs they provide, and in the case of artillery crews, their cranes can never be thanked enough for helping with the heavy ammo the crews are forced to lug around.
