The Cattle Exo suit is the Administrations resource gathering unit. Similar to the Warlord Exo, the objective was a form of power armor but ended up being something of a micro-mech. Unlike with the Warlord however, this did not negatively impact the function of the suit. The Cattle is highly customizable, many different tools can be attached to the manipulator arms. Pictured here are a lumber saw and a flamethrower. The Cattle fills various functions. Unequipped Cattle suits are used to move cargo similar to old earth forklifts. The can be used for lumberjacking, mining, and even farming.
The Cattle is not meant for frontline combat. It is built for high durability, but at best its plating will stop a pistol, or a low grade hunting rifle. Its does have the option to equip a flamethrower, originally meant for industrial tasks requiring the pilot to make fire. Now obviously some Cattle pilots have taken to using the Flamethrower to fend of raiders and defend themselves from other factions. The Administration highly discourages this practice, as it greatly fears an armed uprising from the lower classes. Military commander sometimes allow there Cattle mechsuits to use flamethrowers for self-defense in frontline battle zones, but this is rare due to fear of rebellion, defection, and fear of theft of an armed Cattle suit by bandit forces. There is a military upgrade for the Cattle that replaces the flamethrower with a set of twin-linked machine guns. This upgrade however is rarely used and is mocked by most leaders. Machine gun equipped Cattle are only seen in the most intense battle zones.
The name Cattle is an interesting story. The role out of the Cattle was meant to be a big propaganda moment, a sign that the Administration cares for its citizens and provides the best tools available. However as with all propaganda attempts, it fell flat on his face. The move brought in one of the workers that was to be one of the first pilots, and asked him to give it an inspiring name. When he was seen on first shift as a pilot, he had crudely written the word 'Cattle' on the mech/exo suit. When the authorities asked why he had done this his answer was, "Your not fooling anyone, you didn't build these things for our benefit, were just cattle to you and you value these thing more than you value us," He was swiftly imprisoned and put on heavy labor detail. The incident was quickly covered up but the story has spread like wildfire and is told by many citizens. Ironically his prediction was correct, as operators that damage or really just scratch the paint face heavy fines and harsh discipline.
