Description I did this shortly after the first Transformers movie, as a prediction of who would be in the sequel.

As you can see, I got two right (three if you count Galvatron, which you kinda can). Poor old Grimlock will have to wait till the the inevitable terrible third movie.

Surprisingly, I didn't predict all of the tasteless "comedy" that Michael Bay seems to think improves a movie about transforming robots.

At least the writer of the last three movies is out.

At least Devastator and Soundwave made it.

I was thinking they could have renamed a revived Megatron as Galvatron, but obviously they chose not to If they had this would have been pretty accurate

I heard they didn't rename him Galvatron because it would confuse some people.

Those G1 versions bring back such fond memories! :3 And to Cheetor: Sorry buddy, no fuzzie machines allowed, maybe someday.

XD Thank you, I'm glad you like it, I do prefer the G1 designs, I think.
And poor Cheetor really did miss out

Im gonna say it,I liked ROTF. But I do think that Devastator was kinda useless in the film, wrecking balls, and he barely did anything. But I liked the action scenes, and the overall story.

memorypalace In reply to razorsprites [2009-12-28 23:43:38 +0000 UTC]

Oh don't mention the wrecking balls
Yeah the general story was fine, and the action was good, but it could/should have been much better. It should at least have been an improvement on the first one

Yeah,I agree with you there. But I do think the critics were too harsh on the film. And when you think about it,we can actually blame Hasbro for some mistakes, such as the Demolisher/Scavenger thing. In all video games and merchandise,Demolisher is red,and Scavenger is a non-transforming construction vehicle used only as a devastator component(unless you count the EZ devastator),however in the film Demolisher was white, and Scavenger's robot mode was never shown.

Also for some reason the name Devastator was used in the first film as the tank that was called Brawl by Hasbro Miscommunication, I suppose, or Michael Bay being a deliberate nuisance XD Which I suspect would account for the other things, too

I doubt Grimlock's going to make it in the next TF movie, seeing as Michael Bay has come right out and said the Dinobots are ridiculous. We can hope though, right?

Funny, though, and good job drawing everyone! Devastator with a skull amuses me somehow.

memorypalace In reply to kenyastarflight [2009-11-13 14:36:10 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but Bay also likes to spread misinformation about the Transformers movies (I read an interview after the first movie in which he said Devastator definitely would not appear and Megatron would not return )
I'd like to see him in it though, but I'm prepared for a hideous design

kenyastarflight In reply to memorypalace [2009-11-13 17:24:41 +0000 UTC]

Maybe Hasbro has the final say in the movie and made him include Devastator? (Might explain why he put in the "wrecking balls" scene, as a "Take that!" at Hasbro.) So maybe they'll overrule him on the Dinobot matter as well.

I wouldn't be surprised
Hasbro > Michael Bay

Great picture!!!! I was hoping the dinobots would be in the movie. Sigh, maybe next time......

It would be cool if they were, but at the same time, just imagine how ugly their designs would be

Michael Bay has said he's not interested in the Dinobots, but he said the same about Devastator, too....

srg1 In reply to memorypalace [2009-08-16 06:07:19 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, seeing how they designed the new transformers in the second movie, I think I would be a little wary on how good the designs on the Dinobots would be.

I haven't seen any of the Transformer movies, and I'm not sure if I really want to. :/

What I REAAAALLLY want to see is the next HP movie! AGHHH!
Every year I see it, I always cosplay as a Hogwarts student.
I have Luna Lovegood's raddish earrings and Hermione's Time Turner XDD

If you wake up tomorrow morning and find yourself transformed into an unusually immature 12 year old boy, go see the new movie, you'll love it. If not, seriously, you're better off without it
Harry Potter fever is starting to set in, I watched the first movie again last night; when I first saw it I didn't like it, but it's aged really well. And I'd forgotten how cool Snape is

Fer srs?? I think Snape is creepy lol.
I used to have a crush on Daniel Radcliffe, but I'm not so big on him anymore. lol.
My favvvee characters are Hermione and Luna Lovegood. :3

Do you have yahoo or anything?

I know Snape is creepy, I just think Alan Rickman is hilarious in it; he has this tremendous voice and it's like he's acting in his own little movie within the movie

Poor Daniel Radcliffe

Lolol why poor Daniel? XD
I grew out of him....now he acts nekkid on stages, lol!
[or he used to...]

Yes, Alan Rick--Hey dude! you guys have the same name except you have two L's! Aha! I don't know why that's so entertaining.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't think too highly of the movie (a minority of one is the loneliest number). I got a bigger chuckle out of THIS, and I didn't have to shell out $7.50.

Galvatron looks like he's enjoying Cheets' disappointment.

It is frustrating that they gave Michael Bay $200m dollars and THAT was the best he could come up with. It's an ok, fun, summer blockbuster, but with what he had to work with, it could have been so much better.

At the least the first one was mostly respectful, but the TF's did have more personality this time around, even if it was the personality of Jar Jar Binks sometimes

Tessombra In reply to memorypalace [2009-06-24 21:43:17 +0000 UTC]

I was annoyed that the canon chars took a backseat to those two--that, the fact that Megatron turns out to be nothing but a lackey the use of the military as nothing more than cannon fodder, and as you said, a huge budget and I'm not sure what he used it on.

I think Robert Rodriguez should direct the next one. He knows how to work CGI, can make things enjoyable for adults AND kids at the same time, and he can do amazing things with a buck.

memorypalace In reply to Tessombra [2009-06-24 21:57:19 +0000 UTC]

You're right about Rodriguez, he'd be great (and have you read "Rebel without a Crew"?), but I think Bay is enjoying exposing us all to the contents of his head too much to walk away from this one.

Tessombra In reply to memorypalace [2009-06-24 22:38:32 +0000 UTC]

That, and sticking it to his critics, who have pretty much written him off as someone who represents the reflection of everything that's gross and pathetic about Hollywood. The money he makes is pretty much a pert too.

Its funny--I read that book and thought nothing of it when I did, until my kids fell in LOVE with the Spy Kid series and Sharkboy and Lavagirl and I always check out what they want to watch or read and LO--there he was.

That's a great idea, you have here
I just watched the 1st Transformers movie lately, so I haven't much knowledges of all Transformers characters here But the 1st movie was sooooo great!!! It's my 2nd fav movie of the 2000s after TDK
I just saw the trailers of the 2nd movie and it looks very exciting and much more better then the 1st one The movie also started today here in Germany in the cinemas I hope I have the chance with time and can watch it some day

Again great job, you did here !
I'm looking forward to see more Transformers pics from you

Thank you very much, I did two of these right after the first movie, but I thought they were lost in the big computer crash of '08.

The new movie opened here last friday and well...it seems to be aimed at 12 year olds
It's a lot less serious than the first, with much more action and childish "humour"

It is fun though, if a little(ok a lot) dumb.

xero87 In reply to memorypalace [2009-06-28 18:35:20 +0000 UTC]

Wasn't the first movie aimed at 12 years, too At least, that's what is mentioned there on my DVD ...
I still only saw the previews there ... I really wonder, if the 2nd one is better as the first movie or quote as good as the 1st movie, even if there's more action and less humour scenes like in the first one ...

memorypalace In reply to xero87 [2009-06-28 22:03:46 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know it's kids movie really, I'd just like it to take itself a bit more seriously.
If you liked the first movie, you'll probably like this one. It's more of the same but much bigger, with more action, more transformers and, sadly, more humour.
It is still very enjoyable though and you should see it when you get the chance
