A little boy is standing on top of a cliff, looking down at the sea and crying his eyes out. A priest approaches and says, "My child, why are you so upset?"

St Peter complains to Jesus "I've been working ten centuries straight without so much as a coffee break!" So, Jesus offers to take over his duties for awhile. "The job's real easy." says Peter, handing over the keys. "Just ask a person who they are and why they should be allowed into Heaven." So, Jesus take's St. Peter's position and this old guy shows up. There are heaps of hypocritical atheists and agnostics, no argument there! It's a shame that people latch on to one thing and oftentimes fail to see past its shortcomings. I don't really think that a fixed set of beliefs are free from criticism and ridicule just because someone holds them dear.
In fact, I don't think anything is free from being ridiculed.Β
Besides, that has nothing to do with human decency. If something is ridiculous, we ridicule it.
Take for example, the bronies (which, judging by your profile picture is a label we both share). The Bronies are one of the most ridiculed groups on the internet. Some do it light heartedly and playfully, while others do it out of spite. Despite that, I like to see people make fun of bronies, even when I am a brony myself.
No one is free from ridicule, and no one should be. That is the wonder of freedom of speech.

For example, there was this one guy who constantly poked fun of me because of my Celebral Palsy. Of course, he was not the first one to do it, but he was the first one to do it while being horrendously unfunny. And really, if anything, that is what offended me the most.
But yeah, making fun of people is fun. Even if you gotta do it properly. That is, if you don't wanna look stupid. XP
