I had one of those surreal brain-farts when I drew this up for a college class. I could not for the life of me think of a background to go with my little parakeet, so I drew in some arteries and veins... Yeah. Weird.Not too long after my family successfully kept the cockatiel alive, we also began to acquire parakeets. I think the blues are the prettiest; the ones we had/have have white on their bellies that makes me think of a sky with clouds. I now tend to think of parakeets as very pretty little tyrannosaurs.

It's not spam when you comment on people's pictures - that's why the commenting system exists in the first place! It's perfectly okay to comment on each and every one of your friends' pictures, as long as you're not just spouting nonsense. What you're doing on my message boards is just fine - you're telling me what you think of my work, whether you like it or not, what it makes you think about - that's all great, and that's what the commenting system is for.

This is beautiful! Your attention to detail really shows in the variation in colour, which is my favourite aspect of this piece! I love the various shades of blue, and the way you pick out individual feathers with black and white highlights. This background works very well with the picture as a whole - it's simple enough not to detract from the main subject matter, but still interesting, original and well done in its own right. Also... the parakeet reminds me of my lovely old budgie, Mitty.

Nope, this model wasn't a biter. The tyrannosaur comment stems from a Non-Sequiteur cartoon from years ago - these two parakeets are reading the paper at the bottom of their cage, and one sees an article talking about how birds are evolved forms of dinosaurs, so the parakeets decide that they must be evolved from the Tyro himself.
