» Backstory:
A lot of family stories are tragic and sad, but not this one. Daemon's parents had always wanted children, they were married early and got their first child, Lisa, shortly after. Two years after they got Lisa, Daemon was born and the family felt complete. They had pretty good, suburban lifestyle. Daemon's father was a retired Pokemon trainer who had taken a job at Jubilife TV and his mother was a retired Coordinator and spent her working days teaching at the trainer school. They had kept their two main pokemon to stay with the kids and help teach them about pokemon, a Delcatty and a Arcanine. Lisa and Daemon was both very good with them and their parents had no worries about letting them go on a journey when they reached ten years of age.
The day had finally arrived, Daemon would get his starter. His sister had already started her journey two years prior and had chosen a Turtwig, their parents could afford the starter program to them both, she had already collected 5 badges by the time it was Daemon's turn. It was not a difficult choice for him, when he saw the fire monkey Chimchar, he fell in love. The chimchar was named Pyro and the pair got along famously. A few steps outside of Jubilife and he got his first pokemon, a Budew he named Thorns, Thorns and Pyro were not the best of friends, but they got along. With Thorns' help they beat the first gym in Orebourgh.
New pokemon and badges quickly followed suit, he caught a Buneary he named Aurora and a Buizel he named Ford on the way. He also got a Shinx he named Shock, a Staravia he named Sky. They became his team for as long as the last gym where he also got a Gible, he named Growler. With his full team of six he beat the final gym and moved on to tackle Victory Road. Everyone except his Gabite were fully evolved and stronger than they had ever been. Stepping inside the league he remembered all he had to go through to come where he was standing that day, and with one more confident look at his trusted partner Pyro, he challenged the Elite Four. Beating the Elite Four was not a simple task, but then again, it was not supposed to be. He was left with only Pyro, twice. Meeting Cythia, however, was on a whole new level. Just her presence gave off a really intimidating vibe. The battle was short as she sent in her Garchomp as her second pokemon. One after another his team fell until Pyro was left. With his blaze ability, the Infernape managed to take down the Garchomp, but the damage was done. Only a minute in battle with Spiritomb, Pyro fainted. After almost three years of traveling, he was met with defeat at the end of his first journey. Cynthia congratulated him on getting so far, and encouraged him to try again when he was stronger.
Being defeated once did not discourage him, he began to travel more. From Kanto to Kalos he traveled and challenge the leagues native to the different regions. With a new team for every region, he got a lot of experience training pokemon. He never became a champion, sadly, he was mostly defeated at the third Elite Four member. Daemon still loved battling with a passion, but with 11 years of constant traveling and non-stop training he felt it was time for a break. He had considered being a pokemon coordinator, but he still did not have the full understanding of contests. He traveled home for a bit of advice from his parents, and to his surprised, he got an egg! They agreed with him that he should take a break and told him about Seraphic. After a year back home, training his Pichu, Daemon decided that the time was right for him to leave for Seraphic. He took the pokemon he felt closest to plus his newest member and set out for his next adventure.
During the long boat ride to Auburn town, little Sugar the Pichu evolved and she got very popular the instant she got off the boat. Sugar turned out to be very popular with the children despite her inexperience. Daemon did not want to disappoint them and leave, so if he was going to take a break, Auburn Town seemed to be the place to do it. Daemon himself even seemed to gain popularity with the children and was offered to help out at the Trainer School, an offer he would gladly take.
» Group history
The following months in Auburn Town were nothing short of eventful. Daemon loved his job at the trainer school more than he thought he would. He loved showing off how strong all of his pokemon were and tell stories about his past adventures. In turn his pokemon were showered in affection and admiration and the children seemed to look forward to the days Daemon would help out. It was kind of incredible how quickly he became attached to the children he taught. And although he could not exactly get promoted because of his lack of education, he was asked to be there more often, like on field trips. One field trip really changed his life in Auburn. So far it had been very quiet, just him and his pokemon, with lazy afternoons and boring weekends. Going to visit the local normal type gym changed that completely. After an awkward first exchange and a heated battle against two of their pokemon, Daemon and the gym's leader Noah formed a friendship. Suddenly Daemon's weekends were filled with laughter and bad movies. Despite their lack of communication skills and the occasional awkward slip ups, they formed a rather strong bond.
And as one was formed, another was broken. Daemon's partner pokemon Pyro suddenly got very ill. It started with fire loss, then exhaustion and eventually he was confined to bed in a pokemon center. Daemon was more than devastated, he was at a complete loss. This was worse than when his Luxray died, this was his starter. The very first pokemon he got. His best friend in the world was dying, and there was nothing Daemon could do about it. Pyro was gone three sleepless days afterwards. The next few days went by in a blur. He flew back to Sinnoh for Pyro's burial. Daemon wanted him to be put to rest in his homeland where they first met. Rather than the region they said their goodbyes. The visit was short, but felt like an eternity. While at home, he left the rest of his team to grieve. As much as he loved them, he did not want them to see him like this. Sugar refused to leave his side and so did the Delcatty Oliver from his Hoenn team. Delcattys had always meant a lot to Daemon, and it was evident in the bond he shared with Oliver. His parents agreed that he should take the normal type with him home. He would need all the support he could get.
Because of the death of his starter, Daemon rarely goes outside. He mostly stays cooped up at home curled up in his sofa with Oliver and Sugar.
