To me, Devil May Cry 3 is a rather special game. Everything about it is just so good - the only problem with it being that it should have been longer!
I can hardly fathom the idea of the next one being as good. It would have to be perfect to stand up to the standard of 3...but in any case, one thing I really liked about the game was the character Vergil, who features prominently in this painting, being the man in the blue coat - and what a coat that one is! With it split into three tails at the back like a riding coat, and its dragon design, it has to be one of the most magnificent coats I have seen.
I've made the style of this picture kindof loose and slightly impressionistic in a way. I was trying out some new brushes for Painter to see what kind of effects I could get. This scene is based off some official art of the game. The original is a 3d image, and a rather good one at that...

Dante may be the renegade rock star, but Vergil maintains that assassin bad ass with the etiquette and class of a hitman. Capcom should bring him back as he was in DMC3

A very bad ass coat for a very bad ass character. DMC 3 was my favorite in the series as well because not only was the game play amazingly refined, but vergil was just too damn cool. I also hope he makes it into MvC3 by some miracle because he's cooler than both dante AND trish... how capcom decided to put trish instead of virgil in the first place is a complete mystery to me. I just can't accept vergil as being featured in only 1 game... at least we got to play as him in the special edition. Still, i need another game with him in it.

really nice mix you got there....vergil is too cool however you look at him. sad he doesnt return in a prominent way...they should make a game purely on him...like crysis warhead or something.

I would have to say Devil May Cry 3 is alot better then Devil May Cry 4. In every way possible. I like Ninja Gaiden 2 better then Devil May Cry but still Devil May Cry 3 is my favorite than all Devil May Cry. awesome picture by the way

And I personally just like Vergil as a character because of his darker nature, and the fact he seems to have a lot of depth to him. You never really quite understand him when you put together everything he says; some of it just doesn't quite add up to what you might expect. He's very interesing, I find. I really hope he'll return in 4, or any other possible sequel.
