Ho, matey! After watching the first Pirates of the Caribbean again, I decided I had to paint Barbossa. Geoffrey Rush simply acts as one of the greatest villains. Oh, and the name of this painting comes from the line he says in the film here as he tells Jack Sparrow to walk the plank, with such relish - Off you go!Spent two days on this (though I don't know how long it took in hours). I'm really happy with it - it took some time, but I managed to get all the detail I wanted on the face. The crew members were pretty tricky because of the lighting, but they only took a few hours, while the face took quite a few more...
Oh yes, and I was extremely pleased with how the fabric of the coat ended up. Just adding little highlights hugely improved the texture.
I wasn't sure how to make the edges of this, so I just made them look as they do in the film - plain black.
