Spyro is just a random character in Skylanders at this point. There's no point to even keeping him in that game.
Also, there's no point in trying to change my opinion. I used to play Skylanders when it first came out, and sort of enjoyed it. But then the quality.. Dropped. And now I just want my purple bab back.

Hate to break it to you, actually I don't, but you all don't deserve a "new" Spyro game. Every company is a cash grab. And there is NOTHING you and all the other "fans" can do to "bring back Spyro." I'm sick of it. There are actually a few Skylanders who stand out more than the others, in the spotlight, and Spyro is, in fact, one of those Skylanders. He's the star of the Skylanders TV series, and is getting more attention than you all think he's getting. And don't even say he was used to "earn money from the game." You're wrong about that. I have proof to prove you wrong.Β

-.- Maybe there isn't anything we can do. I'm honestly glad that they decided to completely reboot his story. They originally planned on it being a continuation of TLoS, and went with it for a good while. They messed up Malefore and threw Hex into the story for no reason whatsoever. Also, I'd like to see some statistics. And how exactly is this proof? Granted, there's no proof for my claim either. You forget that the original comment was posted AGES ago. I loved all of the games leading up to Skylanders, but personally did not enjoy it. What's the point in trying to change my opinion? I've moved on.
Now, this is an inactive account. So I won't be responding to any more comments here. If you really want to have some sort of a debate about this, simply note my on my new account. I'm willing to listen to your side, but so far this conversation has not been productive.

I still play the old Spyro games, just to get that feeling of nostalgia. If only they would remake the classic Spyro trilogy.

Spyro on the PS1 is spyro.
Any spyro games that are not on the PS1 are fake spyro.
And skylanders... when they call that horrible thing spyro it just makes me want to kill myself.
The other consoles are good, they just don't have a good Spyro game (except wii, which sucks no matter what).

I actually don't totally hate the newer games, though; the GCN series was okay gameplay-wise, though his design and the story were stupid... And I really like Skylanders, but I feel like there's no reason for Spyro to be associated with that really cool, almost-totally-unrelated concept. (especially when he looks like a deranged fusion of a pug dog with a bull that happens to have reptilian features)

Unfortunately, there's bad aspects to most fandoms, I find, particularly with the bigger fandoms.Β
People have different opinions on things, and when it comes to Spyro many may have opinions that differ to yours on Skylanders due to nostalgia for Classic Spyro. And back then, that was the main reason I wrote that comment.Β
It's usually a better experience if you can find people in a fanbase that you can relate to, rather than arguing with other people with opposite opinions to you.Β

I agree, the original Spyro was always a big part of my childhood. I've played the TLoS, I really enjoy it but it doesn't have the Spyro feel to it. I think they should have come up with a completely new character, not remade a character. If it was The Legend of Bob (first name to pop in my head) I think I would have been able to appreciate the game a lot more, and not have expectations from the original games.

Not only that but I see no need for them to use Spyro, as much as it pains me to say, the younger generation which most of the games are aimed at won't even have played/known the original Spyro. So there is nothing really to be gained except back lash from fans of the old games.

a long time ago I hated it. long loading screens, bad story, everything looked just awful.
I just quit the game and got rid of it. Then started playing my old ones XD
