Description
This is a table I did for my final project in 1st year furniture at Sheridan College. The idea behind it is taking a traditional looking table (shaker style) and litterally cutting it in half and pulling it apart exposing all the guts inside. The table part is made of red oak and the inner parts are made of padauk which i carved out with a chainsaw arbour on an angle grinder. It's finished with just a tung oil.Related content

I really like this.. just the idea of pulling the table apart and having like.. fleshy/stretchy stuff inside. Good job. I wish I could make something like this.

Thats just bad ass. no other way to describe it. nice wood work on the guts and such. make more of these type of tables, and you might become famous

lol thank you, I appreciate it. I've got so many ideas for using that style in other furniture, but the problem is i'm still in school and my teachers aren't really big fans of that style.

do it in your pass time. currently im doin somethin along these lines, but instead of the insides, im makin a throne that looks like bones.

Thanks! When it was first completed the paduak was very orangy, but now it has faded to a really dark red
