Description My first biplane model, and my first time doing so much rigging on a plane. Ive done rigging on ships, but this is way different! I forgot to mention in the previous pic, I had to hand paint the red, white and blue stripes on the tail, that took some time to do! For some reason Hasegawa decided to be cheap and not make a decal for the tail :/ Oh well....they did great on the rest of the model, its pretty detailed for a vintage kit being built right out of the box The only downer is, you cant see much of the cockpic detail...:/

Cool - rigging scares me. That's why I haven't tried a WWI or any bi-plane. Great paint work too!

Thanks! I mainly do antennae rigging on planes, but this was waaay harder than thought it would be...When or if i buy another biplane, I'll give it plenty of thought before I make the purchase! lol

Only thing that gets me though is the fuselage is weathered, yet the wings look factory fresh. Or being canvas they would always look like that?

looks great. the rigging really adds to it, and unless i looked real close i would of the the tail was a decal. the fuselage looks great too, did you use a wash?awesome model man!

Thanks, dude! Yes I did go with a black acrylic wash to bring out the rivet detail. This one was trick because it has raised panel lines, and rivets, when I'm used to recessed panel details.
