On another note, why did Alphys end up back in her own lab? Wouldn't she have to still be in the Core with the brothers?
And how did Asgore find them/know where to find them?
And why did they even pass out from Gaster falling into the Core anyway?
I'm a bit confused here...

Gaster was a part of Sans and Papyrus's souls. Him dying caused a reaction between the two. You saw the black chunks in their souls right? That's the Gaster in them.

Okay, I guess that makes sense (even though he didn't really die, he got erased, which is pretty much worse than death).
Still confused as to why Alphys ended up back in her lab instead of by the elevator and how Asgore knew where to find them.

I do wonder why people falling into the Core are forgotten?
It's been a long time since I last played the game, so I don't remember if that information is in the game somewhere...
Now that I think about it, those followers of his did say that he fell into the Core, and they talked about how it would be like if the world entirely forgot about you. I suppose that's the information I was looking for.
Still, while pretty much everyone has forgotten about Gaster, it seems there's still a very few that still remember him, or at least have heard of him in rumors. (River Person, Gaster's followers, who also may or may not have fallen into the Core and been forgotten.)

Just curious- how did Alphys get back to the lab? Did she wake up and bring the children to Asgore, THEN pass out in her lab? Or did Asgore find them himself, and Alphys just wakes up in the lab without remembering how she got there or what she was doing in the CORE beforehand?

Or, maybe, the timeline like??? Re-wrote itself, so Alphys was always in the lab.

I kinda miss Gaster. Sure, he put the skelebros through hell, but it was to protect the people he loves, or at least he thinks so. Ironic, in a sense. I don't think he ever was completely evil just, like Papyrus said, he made some bad choices. Honestly I think Sans made a bad choice by pushing him. I wonder... Does this count as a LOVE?

I miss him too... maybe just because he was so easy to hate that when he was gone well, what do you do then?

In this comic, Zarla is using the headcannon that because of the way the core functions and how it uses magic to turn magma into electricity, it somehow has the unintended consequence of taking anyone who falls into the magma below out of the timeline. The monsters haven't figured this out yet because whenever someone falls in, they completely forget they existed in the first place as seen here: What they call 'foreshadowing' .
In the canon of Undertale, it is unknown how Gaster got himself erased from time and space, we only know that it was caused by something he invented, many fans theorize the core is the cause because it's the only thing we know for sure he invented. Monsters aren't erased from time and space when they die in any other situation, they just simply die normally and turn to dust. Hope this helps ^.^

As far as I can tell Gaster didn't die from falling into the Core, not in the traditional sense. He's kind of everywhere and nowhere now. Trapped in the void between spaces.

RiverDancerYT When you kill a monster they turn to dust but for Gaster he fell into the core and therefore its different. Everybody forgot him because him falling into the core messed him up.
