Description
This is an acrylic painting on a 16 X 20 inch canvas. Another in a series of pieces airing my great fondness for working monochromatically or in very narrow colour spectrums. I put my heart into this, and I've intended no pun. It was a final Valentine to a woman I was (weirdly) involved with for a number of years. Actually, my Valentine to her was a written piece. A poem in fact, one for which I had high hopes of her remembering. So I painted her a picture of the envelope in which I presented the Valentine to her. It's a frank and pure painting. Upon it's completion I found it an oddly expressive one. It's mood, simple and stark, beautiful and cryptic, speaks volumes about the affair of the heart which inspired it. It is a great hope of mine that she enjoy the painting for a long long time.
