Edited to add: This meets with YumeNouveau's approval for the most part, so I've relabelled it accordingly. *happy*OK, so this was supposed to be ~YumeNouveau 's OC Cillian. I got about half way through, and decided to give up on making it Cillian, because it just wasn't working, then I got stubborn, and tried to make it look like him anyways, but I don't know as I succeeded at all.
YumeNouveau if you say it doesn't look like him, then I'm totally claiming this guy myself, hehe. I already know exactly what I'll do to him, and what his story will be, hehe.
Oh, and I tried a few things different on this guy. Can you spot where?

Eyes are my favorite to draw! *grin* Hair....well, hair is sometimes a challenge for me. I actually messed Cillian's hair up. *sheepish*

I can draw realistic eyes too, but I like drawing these semi-realism ones. Somewhere between the Anime, and realism. Actually realistic eyes are much harder.

Yea i think realistic ones are so much harder because they have to be perfect if you mess them up, they no longer look real but there are so many variations with anime eyes it is easier to make your look i suppose

Ah, sorry nothing to share after the weekend. I strained my hand AGAIN on Thursday, and it took till Sunday to be up to drawing anything, then I tried to draw something and failed HARD. Ugh. OH well, I might be able to fix my drawing tonight, and if not, I can always start something new.

Well, that drawing from the weekend was a fail, but then I was able to draw something decent last night, so maybe I can finally work on some of the drawings I need to get done again. I'm glad I didn't mess up so badly on a drawing I was working on for someone.

Wonderful drawing yet again and tbh, I'm running out from words to say since all of your drawings never stop to disappoint me lol. Face shading and his mouth is top notch as always, little hair strands looks like they're actually real and I love the smile you gave him, especially considering the fact that you barely do them

Heeee, should my characters be less bah humbug than me? *grin* Seriously, it was really challenging getting the shading just right for this smile. I was surprised how much that quirk of the lips changes the shape of his cheeks. I probably shaded and reshaded that area at least 6 or 7 times trying to get it to look just right. Would be easier if I had a model to work from.
I know what you mean about running out of words. Every time I see a new piece from you I think "Good Gad, He's gotten even better, what the hell am I supposed to say this time except..."Good Gad, You've gotten even better!" hehe.

You know, It's just a regular mechanical pencil, I'll check the size when I'm home again. The trick on the hair, is that I always layer something under the pencil. So on really light hair I use my blending tool for the shadows, but on darker hair, I do like here, and go in with my 6B held at an angle, and do long strokes in the direction of the hair to give it texture and shadow. When I've got that done, then I go back over every single lock, and do it in sections (If it's wavy/curly, then it's each part of the curl), and add the lines. I actually took progress pictures on the last light/white hair drawing I did to share with you, but they turned out so awful I didn't upload them. I should do that so you can see. It's hard to make it real clear, but it might clarify what I'm talking about a bit.

If it looks OK for him, then I'm extremely happy, and he's all yours! I changed that nose sooooo many times!! Hehe. It's supposed to be straighter, but somehow about the millionth time I was reshading it, and adding hair behind it, it developed a bit of my bridge, hehe. I can try and correct it if you would like, but I'm nervous about messing him up again.
I tried to make his expression the way you've described him, his "attitude", I'm really glad to hear I got that across, YAY! OK, I'm going to relabel this as yours. *grin*

It seriously looks lovely, his nose is just a bit different, but I wouldn't want you having to take the time to figure out how to change it, so no worries! I'm loving the smirk, you should do more guys with that. I know you've got a million OCs in your head, at least one needs to have that cocky privileged bastard smirk like Cillian (ok maybe he's not a bastard, but he definitely needs some help with understanding that other ppl have feelings too).

I've been looking for a nose model for him, hehe. I'm still planning on doing a second one of him, though maybe not for a bit. I think if I borrow my best friends nose, that might work, modified a bit. I might depending on how brave I get, attempt to alter his nose a bit, and see if I can get it right.
Now that I've figured out how to shade that smirk, I totally plan on using it again, hehe. Seriously the expression and everything was just right for a character. So I will probably be using it again soon. *grin*

Oh, I just blantantly asked my friends if I could use their noses, and jawlines and such as a model for my drawings. I'm going to take pictures from different angles, hehe. My friends already know I'm crazy. *grin* Neither of the ones I asked cared their noses would be gracing pretty boys.

I'm surrounded by beautiful women. I'm not sure why, but I tend to make friends with really gorgeous people. My best friend would make a great model for an elf. She's tall, lean, and blonde with beautiful features, full lips, big beautiful eyes, and a pert nose. *grin*
Oooh, is it bad that I'm jealous now of all the pretty eye references you must have? Hehe. I'd totally share my nose reference photos with you (after I take them) if you would share eye. *blinks pleadingly*

Honestly, I think part of the reason I tend to make such pretty friends, is that I don't mind that they are pretty, if you know what I mean. Some girls get so fussed about that sort of thing. They have to compare themselves, and then when they find themselves lacking, they take it out on the other person. Not that I'm not ever prone to comparisons, cause that happens on occasion, but I'm more likely to take it out on myself. *shrugs*
By the way, your above description...I actually know a few people like that, but distantly, friends of friends and such...well, there is Angel (real name Sarah) who fit pretty darn well there for a while...*blinks*

Yeah, if YumeNouveau doesn't think he looks like Cillian, he's going to get some minor alterations/additions, and be another of my OC's. I worked a really long time on him.
