Ummm.. the usual deal. As with most of my art, it just happened. Drawn in my sketch book, scanned in. :> Not as happy as it could be in the line art department, but it's cool. It looks alright anyway. Not PERFECT but alright. Colored in Photoshop (because my OC2 broke when I reinstalled it after my reformat- won't save, something about bad status.)EDIT:
I gave him a name! It's Reyni Niamh Groncaron III.

I used to suck at clothing, too. So I had to force myself to sit down and MAKE myself work details in. It helps to follow fashion, anime, manga, and study artist styles to like. Or at least... that's what worked for me.

This is definitly one of my favorite works that you have done, and now that I have a deviantART acount, I can tell you so! I see so much meaning and personality in this piece it's unreal. Absolutly beautiful and better than skin deep. I have a link to this specific picture right on my desktop.

There isn't a where to start. You just keep doing what you do and when you see something you like or get a new idea, expand. That's all it really is... the perfection of your style. No real tutorial or specific pointer is going to help you. ^_^;

Thanks.. toned down was the way to go. Bright colors, really, just aren't natural. If you were to take pictures of anything you see in your day to day life.. you'd be VERY VERY hard pressed to find pure colors in nature. Even if you took ap icture of a blue jay or a cardinal... and you captured the color. You'd find that there's a lot more gray than it seems. ^_^ I'm glad you like them!

^_^ Thanks! The outfit design was the hardest part, as it always is for me. I generally have simplistic designs that it's a pain in the ass to get anything else outta me. (I generally have little patience for tediousness. But this one had flow!)

Yay! Sleepy is good! Sleepy is the best! (Because there's nothing better on earth than dreams- pure imagination!) I had hoped for a sleepy look. I didn't want him to be all mean-looking or in fact, aggressive at all. I wanted it to be very serene as he's a kind and gentle character with a sweet voice and a slightly shy personality. ^_^
