Description A watercolor painting I made for my aunt in 2009.

My love of John Bauer's art definitely shines through in the composition and colors of this one. Bauer =

Is there ever going to be a point where your talent stops or are you just going to keep getting more and more awesome!

That's a very sweet thing to say, and also completely untrue - I've been in a slump for months, unable to stitch together anything but the occasional chibis. XD
But thank you! I'm glad you like what I do.

After watching my girlfriend art for 9 years I've come to a theory about artists. Since a final product require a large amount of time, effort, concentration and energy, artists simply CAN'T churn out show piece after show piece (any full scale art that would be considered a finished work) without undergoing considerable strain. Therefor, artists need to do low emphasis projects, things that they can complete more as a function than scope art. It's easy, it's fun, and it relieves stress because it's something both themselves and others enjoy and creates a sense of contentment. Add this to the job market and the stress of day to day life and...well you get the idea.

And you're welcome. I've been a fan of yours since The Ultimate Mozenrath Site of the 90's.

I think that's a very very valid point. Especially the day to day stress factor as an artistic dampener - I used to spend a lot more time drawing when I was younger than I do today. Not so much because I had more free time, but because it was easier to distance oneself and focus solely and almost meditatively on drawing and painting. These days there's always that constant restless gnaw of "should be doing"s that very effectively kills the spark of inspiration.

Haha, that's awesome! Good old UMS...

You and Wendy Lee are the ones who inspired me to start writing.I loved your fics as much as your artwork. Especially the Wind Jackal series. Creative, theatrical. A lot better than some of the fics I've read recently. Shame that once something becomes popular the quality degenerates.
Unfortunatly I seem to be having the same problem in writing that you are having in art. I've been writing nothing but little yaoi spurts for the last few years despite how bad I've wanted to writing this really sweeping Mozenrath storyline. I have it planned and everything I just can't find the time to write it out.

I'm so glad to have helped inspire you.
Haha, even though those fanfics were written in my teens and quite horrible. I would like to believe I've gotten better since. XD

I actually drew a proper picture the other day! You can do it - the key to handling a large writing project is just to map it up properly, with a monster document for the base plot of each chapter, and then stick to that while also allowing yourself to improvise along the way. Best of luck!

You've got a point. I did that with my first couple of stories and then stopped.

Maybe I will make that my project this year.

Such a sweet yet mischievous little creature I'm not sure I'd like to meet him in the woods

I love the overall feel of the painting - expecially the soft colours of the sky and fading tree line.
The scene feels chilly - not because of the colours, but because I can vividly imagine the cold, misty, refreshing morning in that wood...

I have a feeling you'd never know what to expect from him - good, bad; it may all depend on you. Or possibly his mood at that precise moment. X3

This is gorgeous! The mist is wonderfully realistic, and the detail in the faunling makes a great contrast to the smoother, less detailed backdrop.

Well done. I love it.
