Description And certainly not the last.

All characters from Giuseppe Verdi's opera Rigoletto, libretto by Francesco Maria Piave based on the play Le roi s'amuse by Victor Hugo. Yes, that Victor Hugo. Apparently he had a thing for hunchbacks.

Thank you! And the same author who wrote the book The Hunchback of Notre Dame wrote the play this opera was based on.

Just let me know and I'll link you some links! Most of the operas I watch are on youtube, and nowadays there are a lot, so more and more people can afford to be an opera nerd. Lemme know if you wanna start with a comedy, a serious drama, something a little in between, a certain composer, etc. I'll do my best to find you English subtitles.

And an inference from sketches here and there, the blue guy is some kind of assassin.

Yes, the blue guy is an assassin and offers his services to the hunchback character, who is the title character of the opera, Rigoletto. Fun fact for you: The opera was based on a play written by the same guy who wrote The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

You shall! It's a very good film, one of my favorites to be honest, and it's possibly better than Browning's "Dracula". I own it on DVD actually.
