This month's desktop, KDE4 on Windows 7. As you can see, Explorer, running side-by-side with KDE4's settings manager, and the KDE4 taskbar.I did this because I am writing a desktop app to effectively remove the Taskbar and the Orb, enlarge the desktop workspace to the FULL screen width and height, and, well, i needed something to help me work with it.
So I downloaded KDE4 (latest build) for Windows. If you want to do so, go for it. But keep in mind that I had to make use of my app to fully remove the desktop Windows taskbar, get back the space, and write a very simple .bat file for automating the process.
As how the app has not been OK's for release (it's not mine to do so, i am just the coder, The Sarge commissioned the app, so it is up to him to OK a final for him to release.)
Anyway, once he OK's the download, i will pass it on to him to release. Then, if enough people ask, i can write a HowTo Journal entry.
the KDE4 skin is called "NoSeams", hence, how seamless the Desktop and the KDE4 taskbar look.
I am VERY happy with how it has turned out.

weren't there registry setting for changing default shell?

There is a spot in the KDE Settings manager for setting it as your default shell, but it was disabled. I DO however know the registry key for setting an app as the shell... But KDE4 windows ver has some very minor issues. Such as whatever Amarok 2 uses as it's mp3 parser does not come with the download. also,a lot of the Plasmoid widgets needs Python, and PGP is also needed.
So it's a bit of work to get it working correctly. but it's worth it.

Ok, so long i can follow, but now? Change the explorer.exe or is it only for the kde programms ( they work fine ) what can we shoud do now?

simply starting Plasma-desktop.exe works for getting the KDE4 desktop. I have added in a bit more features for the DeskSize app, but again, i need permission to release it.
